  1. Yo...BURNn They are holding up fine. As I said before, my first set was DOA and I was extremely disappointed because they were a Christmas present and didn't work. Candidly, the fact that I got "burned" on the first set did not sit very well with me...for the price I expected nothing short of perfection and certainly not DOA right out of the box. I took a chance, got a second set and am more than satisfied at this point. Hopefully they will continue to perform well. I'll keep you posted. Allen
  2. I just saw the post by NCatron regarding his new PM4.1s. I had posted on 12/25/01 that my 4.1s were DOA out of the box, how disappointed I was, and wasn't sure whether I would get my money back or take a chance on a second set. Well, I had heard so many good things about the 4.1s that I decided to risk it and get a replacement set. They arrived this afternoon and I finished setup about two hours ago. AWESOME!!! The only word to describe the sound. I'm hearing things on music CDs that I've never heard before. I've got a pretty nice stereo set-up in my living room that I've been fortunate enough to accumulate over the years which includes a Pioneer 100Watt/channel(RMS) receiver driving some heavy-duty Polk speakers which don't give me the clarity, crispness and overall sound quality I'm getting with these 4.1s. Granted, they still are only a few hours old and anything can happen, but I'm astounded at the sound from these things. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the long-term and simply say that these were worth waiting for. I'll keep you posted. Allen
  3. Hi Glennbarn.... My understanding is that the 4.1s and the 5.1s don't have an on/off switch on the sub. If my 4.1 sub has such a switch, I can't locate it. Any one else have a on/off switch on their 4.1 sub? Thanks.... Allen
  4. Unfortunately, after the purchase. It never occured to me that a company with the reputation of Klipsch would have such a large problem with quality control on their product base. I cannot comprehend and do not understand how ANY product can be shipped without being tested SOMEWHERE in the production cycle. Unless I'm overlooking something very subtle, the only test needed was to plug in the sub-woofer to see if it powered-on. At this point I'm unsure whether to exchange my set with a new one, or ask for my money back. I've read some very glowing praises of the PM 4.1s, but also have read some very disturbing things about multiple exchanges for non-working units and 4.1s that go belly-up after a few months. Allen
  5. I saw the message from NCatron about his new 4.1s being DOA. My set fresh out of the box would not even power up. Did full set-up as instructed, plugged power cord into the wall and voila, nothing!!! And yes, each of the four power outlets I plugged the 4.1s into were tested with a table lamp to make sure power was available. Never even got a LED light on the control-pod unit. Since there is no power-on/off switch on the sub-woofer, what else can I do other than check the push switch on the control-pod? Since the LED never comes on either red or green, I have assumed the sub-woofer which supplies the power to the control-pod via the pre-amp hook-up is DOA. Any ideas or comments are welcome. Allen
