  1. Another Update: In the above reply I was supposed to have received my Adcom GFA-7500 amplifier by this past weekend. But alas, as always happens when I really really want something, my dealer called me to inform me that Adcom discontinued that model. Well I was once again a big giant ball of fun. My poor wife. Anyway my dealer tried to give me other options of other companies and brands but that wasn't good enough because I wanted Adcom. Well I went up to the dealer and talked to the guy personally and told him that I really didn't want anything else and I was not a happy camper. So he called his contact at Adcom and lo and behold, they had five sitting in their warehouse. So I should have it by the end of the week. What a hassle. Adcom's web site shows no indication that it is a discontinued item. So that's what really got me bent out of shape. Well, it will be worth it. I just can't wait. 2. Yes, the Center speaker matches nicely with the Kg4's. I didn't want to overdo it with the 7. And I got a really great deal with the 5 because I knew the guy at the store. I just really love the Kg's. I mostly listen to music but as of recently, with the new house, I decided to really upgrade seriously for the Home Theater setup because I finally got a DVD player. I am just waiting for that amp to come in. I was hoping it would be here today since Adcom is only in NJ. Not too far from me. But the amp weighs almost 60 lbs. so the UPS guy might hold onto it for a while. But I have a house to set up anyway. What is the most common, or best, position you guys have found for the placement of rear speakers? I have seen them at the side of the listening position pointed right at your head or behind you with the speakers at a certain angle. What's the positons you guys have at your homes? See you later... 3. Equipment Change: I found out when I got home to hook up my new Adcom Dolby Digital Processor that I wouldn't be able to use the amp that is built into the old Dolby Pro Logic processor! Ruined my whole day. My poor wife had to deal with my frown all day long... So I emailed Adcom and they said that I needed to have the separate amp for the center in order for it to work. So I went ahead and ordered their GFA-7500 5-Channel THX Certified 200watt/channel (at 8-ohms) amp instead of just getting one for the center. And besides, now all channels will match each other and will have all the right timber and tones rather than three different aged amps. So now I just have to wait until Friday to enjoy my new processor. Hey, at least it's pretty. I wanted to ask you guys, if you know, with the Klipch KSF-C5 center and the Klipsch Kg1 rears rated at 8-ohms and the Kg4's at 6-ohms, is there going to be a problem with the mix-match to my new amp? Adcom's site says each channel is mono and separate from the other channels. Thanks for any help. I also love looking at your pictures because I can see that most of you are crazier than I am. My wife wants to know if there is a "Klipsch Wives Support Group". Doug ------------------ Doug Norton strix@mindspring.com Adcom/Klipsch
  4. Hello folks. I just wanted to intro myself a bit. I've been into serious audio for many years but also have many other expensive hobbies that keep me from going full bore with the equipment. But I think my system rocks nonetheless. My equipment includes: Pioneer DV-434 DVD Player Adcom ACE-515 Line Enhancer Adcom GFP-555 II Preamp Adcom GSP-560 Dolby Pro Logic Surround Processor Adcom GDD-1 Dolby Digital AC-3 Processor (the above is not pictured yet but is waiting for me at my retailer right now!) Adcom GFA-535 Amplifier Adcom GFA-545 II Amplifier Klipsch Kg4 Main Speakers Klipsch Kg1 Rear Speakers Klipsch KSF-C5 Center Speaker After paying for the new GDD-1 processor the next thing to upgrade is the TV. I have just joined this group and only glanced at the messages posted but so far everyone seems very knowledgeable and helpful. I will have a lot of questions so watch out. See attached picture of my system. I am moving into a new house this weekend so now my system can spread its wings. ------------------ Doug Norton strix@mindspring.com Adcom/Klipsch
