[High power amplifiers for Heritage speakers]

OK, The replies were educating as well as refreshing. The first time I heard Klipsch speakers I never asked the owner what type of amp he was using, I was just mesmerized by how good Maynard Ferguson sounded. I think I'm getting the picture about amplification and Klipsch. Thank You

This has probably been talked about more times over the years than it needs to be, but I just want to understand what is going on with power amplifiers and Heritage speakers. Please don't be offended at my ignorance about this. Simple question, why is everyone recommending low powered amps for Heritage speakers for Home Theater when it's virtually impossible to find a high quality low powered 7 channel amplifier to run them?? In many of the post that I have seen, everyone is using saying don't use more than 50w per channel (because you don't have to), but the quality amps are rated from 125w to 250w. My guess is that a McIntosh MC207 or a ATI AT4007 is out of the question for (3) Klipsch LaScala up front and Heresy surrounds or am I just crazy for even thinking about amps like this?? OK, I'm ready for the beating.

[Bipole Surround Speaker Placement]

Has anyone angled bipole surround speakers down toward the listening area?? I'm wondering if bipole speakers need to be angled, if placed as surround high (as in Auro3d) would have to be placed angled down or are they effective enough to be heard at or near the top of the wall??

wdecho mentioned a horn sub (tapped horn??), they seem to be a big deal with the DJs; but is it necessary or does it make that much of a difference in home theater?? It seems that two R-115SW subs would be more than enough to extend some LS down low for home theater. I have been waiting to hear some Klipsch owners give their thoughts about tapped horns. The Danley THSPUD specs at 19 Hz – 125 Hz - 3 dB and the R-115SW specs at 18Hz-125Hz +/-3dB, what gives?? Why do so many people talk about tapped subs?? Help me out here

Thank You, Dedicated home theater. I love Jazz and movies most of all, Since they say the LS lack bass and have a great midrange, and the CW have a great full range; tht's why I thought that the combination would have worked out. I've been learning a lot Klipsch lately. Thank You

I’m brand new to this forum but I’ve been a follower for some time and I’m trying to understand how should I make a major purchase of speakers, I’ve only heard the Khorns and I would like to get some serious comments and feedback about the idea of using Cornwall’s for mains and a La Scala for a center channel. I don’t know what to expect and I don’t know anyone that has tried this combination out. I have nowhere in Cleveland to check out these speakers, I just fell in love with the Khorns and the Klipsch sound; and I’m flying blind and taking a leap of faith.
