  1. Eh, sometimes one can get lucky on Amazon, but don't hold your breath. Question; Is your budget of $800 for the receiver only? Or the whole system? If only for the receiver, you can get a rather nice mid-range system with tons of capability.
  2. I figured out how to add to a post. But when I try to make an album, then add to the album, it just says 'error'. I will keep trying and I may ask for your assistance. Thank you for the offer.
  3. I think I got it. Note the cat in the lower right. He was an integral part of getting my system up and running. Now to hide/cleanup wires...I hate wire cleanup!!!
  4. Trying now. And curious, how does one get them into the Album/Gallery area?
  5. Welcome, I am new-ish to the community as well, but not to home theater. I agree with Swa99a. Deal or not, wait for your budget to be available and get 160M. They are good for easy listening and have terrific quality. You could skip the sub until a later time if you want, those handle just upwards of 50Hz, so music with all but the lowest of bass would be reproduced perfectly. I myself have used Denon, Marantz, and Pioneer receivers. With respect to all brands, most are capable of roughly the same thing. Watts per channel is not as important with efficient speakers. The real number to look at is THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). At 8 ohms, which most if not all of Klipsch products run on, even a decent stereo amp/receiver from the fore mentioned brands should be around .08% THD, which is fine. Aim for that, and you should have many options. As enthusiasts, it really does matter which speaker set you get. In the end, get what works for you, but if you go with a slightly higher level/grade of speaker, they could last a life-time.
  6. Hey all! I know it seems silly, but I am extending this from my other topic. I have been trying to post photos of my new RP-280F setup for all to see and enjoy. Yet, the website keeps giving me errors. I have tried to post photos from my OneDrive, where I keep all my stuff, and directly from my PC's HDD. I just want to share with the community and such. For reference, I am using Windows 10 Pro (I am saavy), pics are either .jpg, and I have tried RAW as well. JPGs are around 800kb, so small enough to transfer, RAW around 6MB. Neither works. This community is terrific and I would like to share with you all. I do not have Flickr or any other social storage. Not even on Facebook. And no, I am not an old man, 33 to be exact. LOL. Please help if you have any ideas. ***Tried to create album and upload to gallery.***
  7. It will not let me upload. Just get an error. Trying again.
  8. I am having trouble uploading. It just keeps saying "Error" and the upload button disappears. No matter what source e.g. hard drive, cloud. Step by step help please? I am fairly computer saavy, so this is weird.
  9. How do I post pictures so you all can see my setup?
  10. Thank you to the whole forum for your great input. After using a Dirac Processor and an amp my buddy let me borrow (Marantz MM8077), I have everything tuned perfectly. The Pioneer Elite has a great EQ manual mode I was able to use and now I have Klipsch tuned perfection! As previously stated, the R-115SW is an absolute MONSTER! If I want more, dial up, that simple. This is a great community and I will continue to post. Pictures coming tonight of the final setup. Gotta clean the living room from all the mess I made before you get to see my setup. Happy listening to you all!
  11. Great tip! I also splurged and got a Dirac Processor and ran through frequency tests for about 2 hours. You were close to right btw. I had a peak at 71 Hz. I was able to correct with the built in eq and more testing. And to anyone else reading this forum, the R115SW sub is a monster!! Holy crap. Thank you to this whole forum and to all of you who jumped in to help.
  12. Thank you! Pioneer has always served me well. Clean power from a D3 rated amp is going to make my new Klipsch shine!!!
  13. Thanks for the tip. I have two great places to make a good start because of this forum. What a great community!
  14. Good tip, thank you for the response. I will give it a shot and see. It is a good starting point and I have enough exp. to calibrate beyond. Thx again for responding.
  15. I will upload tomorrow once I unpack them. The lady was really upset with all the boxes. LOL. "Look at what you did to our living room!!!" (My house btw) Anyway, look for the new setup tomorrow dude. Have a good night.
  16. Hello fellow Klipsch lovers! I just received my RP-280F 5.1 system in delivery! I am so excited but could use some help on the crossover. With the understanding that all rooms are different, and all personal preferences are different...what would be a good starting point for a crossover with this system? Looking for good clean, yet powerful sound. Sub to handle all the rumble stuff. Don't like when low pitch male voices in movies/tv come through all speakers...hate that. Enlcosed room with low reverb. R115SW in the corner, and the 5 channels equal distance from listening area. Pioneer Elite SC-91 RP-280F Fronts R115SW R450C Center RP-250S Surround
