  1. That's the only thing that concerns me. If they are not overly honky, I'll be fine.
  2. I appreciate you trying to describe the sound. I am still waiting for Roy to get back to me and I should know in a day or two what the cost is on the 3-way. I guess there's nothing stopping me from turning the 3 way into a 2 way with appropiate driver replacement.
  3. I may be able to get the 3 way KPT-Jubilee/535-B from a local dealer for less and experiment from there. I am not sure how crazy I want to get though.
  4. Hi Mark, I have not listened to any of these, nor have I travelled to go hear them. It would not be the first time I bought gear unheard. I had Cornwall III's and miss them. I never should have parted with them. I am told, and truly believe it, that these Jubilees are in another world musically.
  5. I should have included the 3 options Spencer provided. I will post below. I reached out to Roy at Klipsch for crossover info. Hopeyfully I can wrap this up in the next few weeks. I think another member is ordering a pair and going active crossover setup. I hope to find out more from him. 6. Thank you Chris, I received info from Spencer at American Cinema with this config: Klipsch Jubilee® 2-way system 097031011307 KPT-KHJ-LF Jubilee® Cabinet 097074000001 KPT-402-HF w/BNC75DE Installed I just need to add a crossover passive/active and I'd be set. I am sorry if this seems like it's getting out of hand but I want to make the right choices. Does the above config agree with everyones recommendations. Thanks!
  7. I saw this searching the web. This is the thread and the photo below. http://www.3d-dental.com/index.php?threads/the-music-thread.33/ Has anyone heard these? Overkill does come to mind but these compared to properly implemented Jubilee, what's better? http://www.klipsch.com/KPT-Jubilee-535-B/details
  8. Yes, I really think the MWM bass bins will be too big for me. I quick measurement tomorrow will let me know for sure. Fingers crossed. I just received an email from Spencer at American Cinema. I have a few questions for him, but eveything looks in line with what I was thinking and of course, with all your advice, collectively. I will start a separate thread regarding active crossovers after I do a search to make sure this has not been covered before. Joe
  9. I guess these would not fit through a standard door, would they? Damn, you guys are awefully sweet. I'm thinking. Can I get an approximate measurement? LxWxH? If I can get them is the basement, I just might do it. Can just 2 people carry them by themselves? OMG! you guys are spoiling me. Joe Road trip to Knoxville to get some MWM's and some K33's could likely be done for less than that. If it would make you feel better, I'd be willing to charge $1,000 for the bass bins so you felt you got a steal!!
  10. OMG Dtel, Stunning setup. I love it. Thank you for sharing.
  11. Hi Roger, I'm sorry to hear about your family issues. I commend both you and your wife for being nurses. VERY noble. We will talk later in the week for sure. I'm 52, Dad passed away 4 years ago next weekend. He was 91 years old. Mom is younger at 83 but definitely feeling her age and now her eyesight is getting worse. Everyone here has been wonderful. I am looking forward to adding Jubilees to the room if everything works out.
  12. Roger, I do like tubes but my system in on and playing so much that I also have some SS gear. Since I may have to go with an active crossover, I was thinking more along the lines of modestly powered McIntosh amps or possibly dual Pass XA30.8 amps. I still need to figure out the speakers, the amplification will come later. I assume lower powered amps, tube or SS, will be ok? I do not crank the music and want to be sane with my amp choice.
  13. I do confess to hearing his speakers and loving them but keep coming back to the Jubilee. Thank you for some of the background. Joe, Yes, Volti Audio, that is him! Learned everything he knows off of others here, and even posted his first veneer jobs that were bubbled on these pages! He originally just reveneered old Klipsch Speakers before copying and modifying the LaScala and starting his own company. Roger
  14. Thanks ! It's a video and you can click on it to play it
  15. Thank you Roger. Are you talking about Greg Roberts of Volti Audio fame? Joe
  16. These are my current speakers ... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0dqLX9Zo3AvMjhrcXo4RWRvdUk/view?usp=sharing
  17. Thank you guys. I realize I need to get in and get it going. I don't want to complicate everything. I think there is a modest upgrade on on the horn driver for not much money and going with an active crossover should not be too complicated. I'll know more when I get ahold of Panacea Engineering and/or American Cinema. Thanks ! Eventhough the modest amount of DIY, while not difficult, is more than I was hoping to do, I think with everyone here, I'll be fine
  18. Ok, I reached out to both American Cinema and Panacea Engineering and am waiting for a response. I will follow up with a phone call Mon/Tue and try and nail everything down so I can make a decision. Richard, You recommended TAD 4002 drivers for the K402 horns, has anyone used them? Is it worth the cost of upgrade? I only plan on doing this once, although I gues I could always updrade the drives at some point, if necessary. Thanks! Joe
  19. Richard, Ha! You are too funny. Thank you for the explanation. I understand what you are describing and I think that is EXACTLY what I am looking for in a pair of speakers. Of course I would consider and use the active crossover. Why go half way? Right? I would love to hear your setup. You might spoil me. I'll have to see how long the post office will forward my mail. I'm just sayin' What active crossover are you using? I am looking into them now to see my options. Is anyone using a tube crossover? Thanks ! Joe
  20. Thank you Roger. I'll call late next week. Thank you for your well wishes. I appreciate that very much. You guys are amazing. So would anyone consider the Jubilee speakers forward or bright in the treble? Just right? Can anyone describe the sound vs. the Cornwall III's that I used to own? I thought the Cornwalls were a touch aggressive but never bothered me. I tend to be sensitive to too much HF and it can be irritating to me. I'll be calling both companies you guys recommended to me and see how the process goes. I'll keep you guys updated if/when I pull the trigger.
  21. Roger/twistedcrankcammer, I'd like to thank you again for the above help in explaining what goes on at the gathering. I so want to go but really have to see how I can make it happen. As much as I would love to take the bass bins, I sadly think it's too much of a commitment and size issue to come get them and set them up. I think I can manage the specfied Jubilee speakers for the room that I have now and would cetainly get more use/enjoyment out of them in my current listening room. You guys are AWESOME. I so very much appreciate all the info and help you have and are giving me. I am still trying to digest what I see here and will strongly consider active crossovers as well. I am excited at the thought of actually hearing these in person someday. Warmest regards, Joe
