  1. I posted this in the ARS technica forums a few days ago..so if any of you frequent there, then sorry!! Hey guys-- In the past few weeks, I've begun to change the way I think in terms of home audio. It used to be "OH! That reciever has 500 watts!! and it costs 2000 bucks! I want it." It's really whats to be expected, considering to the naked eye, home audio can be damn complicated. Preamps, special wires, watts...hell...it's all pretty difficult to know anything about if you're just entering the scene. It only gets worse when you add in TVs, DVD players, and so on. My question is as follows. I'm intrested in learning up on some home audio, but before I do so, I think I need to learn about each component and what makes them tick. Why 500 watts doesn't neccisarily spell excellent sound..all of that. Audio Review's website didn't exactly have an excellent FAQ on home audio, and I can find nothing more boring then reading a glossary and memorizing what terms mean. Agreed? So all of you home audio enthusiasts who know hwat they're talking about...How'd you do it? Got a particular website or message board you're fond of? Post it down! I've explored some of the boards on te FAQ, but a lot of the stuff is still overwhleming. I'm basically looking for audio message boards of high quality (post wise and such) and fun websites that have good, comprehensive articles, but also ones that teach the Noob a little bit to get them going. That said...post away...or am I never going to find anything like this? I know..I know...it doesn't mention Klipsch...but I figure people here are knowledgable...enough so to spend a nice amount of mney on some Klipsch products. Uhh...It does kinda relate to them as well, in that half of the stuff I don't really understand deals with speakers like Klipsch, most notible would be all of the components that drive them. So if you have a particular audio website or book you're fond of, share the info!! thanks, Harrison
