  1. I ended up buying a KC-25 on amazon for $125. Looked but didn't see any RC-25's. I had $75 in gift cards from work so it only ended up costing me $50 so figured that was a pretty good deal. Scappy I sent you a personal message about maybe in the future taking those rb-25's off your hands you offered earlier. Thanks so much everyone for your suggestions and recommendations. From what I could tell, the KC-25 seems like a pretty nice speaker and definitely better than my quintet center I have now. One more question sort of on same topic. The new 4K tv I'm buying has the 4K up-scaling built into it. My receiver doesn't and won't for a while. So my best option is to connect everything directly to tv(has 5 hdmi ports) and run an optical digital cable for sound from tv to receiver. That way the tv will upscale the signal and I still get my surround sound right?
  2. Thanks everyone for your input. Scrappy, thanks for the offer on those RB-25's. So, my BEST option would be to go with those and pair them with a RP-250 or an RC series(RC-52 RC-25 or similar) it looks like. Those 25's can be wall mounted right. I have 2 little ones that would constantly be playing with them if not. If I have to settle for cheapest way to improve what's your thoughts about the synergy C-2 or C-20. It would be an increase from .75 to 1" tweeter and 3.5" to 5.25" on the midrange and 75/300W to 100/400W on the power. Those both look like they'd be an improvement over the quintet center I have now and look to be pretty compatible. I suggested those because I see a lot of them available. What would be the max I should pay and what's the difference between those two? How about any good places to shop on line for used other than ebay?
  3. Thanks Scrappy for the info on the R-25. I'm sure it's a good speaker and better than what I have but just like I was thinking the difference to go up to say the RP-250 is probably worth it. I'm definitely not looking to upgrade everything because that's just not in the budget now. I was just wondering if I got the 250 would it be "too much speaker" for the rest of the quintet III satellite speakers I currently have. Would the center channel just drown out everything else and it wouldn't sound right? I've been looking at other options and perhaps maybe a synergy C-2 or C-20 would work better with what I have(or even just finding a quintet series 5 center)? Just looking for opinions on what would work best. The house we're moving into is definitely too big for the setup I have now but replacing all the speakers just isn't an option now so I'm trying to do what I can. Don't have exact measurements but the living room, dining room, and kitchen all all open to each other so it's a pretty big open space with all hardwood floors. Definitely watch more movies/tv than listen to music(which mainly do thru pandora on the roku). I'm upgrading from 37" to 58" 4K tv so thought a center channel upgrade would be nice. I live in the St Louis area 63129. Thanks for the advice.
  4. New to the forum and not very savy when it comes to audio/home theater setup(savy enough to know klipsh is way to go though) so please forgive any stupid question or remark. First introduced to klipsh a long time ago when I purchased the 2.1 pro media computer speaker system. I now have the Quintet III series 5.1 with synergy sub-10 sub. Buying new house and upgrading tv to 58" 4K tv so I thought about maybe starting upgrade of surround sound starting with the center channel first. It's all connected to older yamaha RX-V463 AVR. I'm looking at upgrading to the R-25C but noticed that for not too much more I could get the RP-250C. I was just wondering if either of those would be "too much speaker" for the rest of the quintet satellite speakers and if so which center speaker would be a better option. Thanks in advance.
