  1. The way the room is set up the TV/audio is in the corner of the room. That really can't change. So that means that depth and width of the speaker determine the how far the TV stand must move forward. For the RP-280 the footprint is 10.5"x18". That would move my TV stand out several inches to the point it would look funny. I actually made cardboard cutouts of the footprints of the RP-280, RP-260, and RP-250s. I also made one for the RF-62 II since those are on clearance. Everything moved the TV out too far. The RP-250s were at least acceptable.
  2. I've spent quite a few days reading about different options for a speaker purchase. Perhaps I should have posted sooner to save myself some time.... but alas, here I am with a few questions for those that know more than me. For quite some time I've been saying, "when we move I'm going to get a (5.1) HT system." Well the moving part hasn't happened and doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon judging by the kitchen renovation currently underway. So, I'm looking to purchase a 2.1 system that I can possibly grow in a year or two if we do get a larger house. The primary use will be 70% music. 20% TV. and 10% movies. (so really 2.1 is probably all I'll ever need...but...) For a current 2.1 I'm thinking either RP-160M or RP-150M. Then, when I grow the house/system I can use these as the surround speakers and buy RP-280s to replace them as fronts. Do you think the RP-160M is too big for a rear speaker? The RP-150M has a hook mount for mounting. The RP-160M does not but I have seen platform mounts for them (which would also help get them out from the wall a bit.) Looking forward, which would be a better surround speaker for 5.1? The RP-160M or RP-150M? Or is this generally a bad idea and the answer neither? For current 2.1 use, if I have a sub will I notice much difference between the RP-150 and RP-160? I've read that without a sub the 160s are the way to go. But with a sub will it matter much? And, the third question, would it be a sin to use R-10SW as the sub? I see myself wanting R-112/115SW in a larger home so the price of the R-10SW is attractive over R-110SW since it won't have a use later. If I were to do towers the only thing I'd have room for is the RP-250F and at 15" deep that's really pushing it. They look so dinky compared to the RP-280F anyway I'd just assume wait until I have the room for 8" floors. Thanks for any advice. And if you can think of another plan for this situation please let me know!
