I just got my promedia 4.1's ... and after one semester of great sound.. I left for christmas vacation.. when I came back... the sub started distorting like mad.. and the speakers would start hissing and distorting when I started playing music.... HELP~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi.. I just got back to college.. and when I plugged my speakers and sub back in .. I can't turn the volume very high.. I used to be able to turn it at least where it would bug some people.. but now.. my speakers can barely put out sound without distorting.. Both my subs and my speakers are doing it... HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! please :-D
