  1. Hello all, I'm new to the forums here. I hope my post belongs here. Anyway... I have purchased my promedia 2.1 system quite a few years ago. It has been awesome until I come home one evening to no sound at all. The fuse in the back of the unit had burned out hmmm. I replaced the fuse. System is up and running. Fast forward a few weeks and now the sub-woofer makes growling and scratching noises. The best way to describe the noise is it sounds like some animal is try to claw and scratch it's way out through the sub. I removed the amp assembly from the sub housing and found the 2 4700mf 63v caps bulged at the top and a small cap by the 5 pin transformer connector had exploded and singed the 2 large caps that I replaced. The system works but the scratching noise is still there and the sub just doesn't perform like it used to. It used to rattle stuff in the room. Now the sub seems very dull and not very powerful at all. The fuse however is still intact. If any one has run into this or can guide me in the right direction about fixing this system or contacting Klipsch I'm all ears. I really liked this system and would hate to replace it. Thanks in advance. Pete Mazza
