i currently have a klipsch 4.1 set, but they are on the outs. is the 5300 much better?

is this a known problem to happen after awhile? had them since the 4.1 came out and they lasted a long time, but wondered if this was the first sign they were on the way out

I have the klipsch 4.1 and the audigy 2 platinum soundcard, yet these options are greyed out. WHy?

what do you guys do on a normal computer desk with a 4 speaker setup?
