  1. Thanks for the feedback guys! Hey Doug yeah I hear this thumping when i switch sources and also when I switch listening modes. I am gonna investigate this non-muting issue some more, by the way some interesting info is that this problem only started after I had the receiver a couple of months so there was a time when the thumping only occurred when i wanted it to....ie when playing music etc. As for the Kenwood site they reserve their technical acumen for answering really in depth issues like "Why does my volume numbers go up when sound level goes down" If you aren't familiar with Kenwood receivers ..... believe me this is not difficult to figure out! 2. I have done this with great results, I would use the gold plated RCA to F connector adapters at the ends and definitely use RG-6 cable (bigger conductor, less loss). I have also went out and bought 40 feet of sub cable only to have someone jam the connector into the sub and break off the sleeve of the connector (good thing it wasn't my sub! ) if it is coax cable you just yank off the adapter and go to radio shack and buy another one.
  3. I get a very loud "thump" in my KSW-12 sub when switching sources through my Kenwood Vr-3090 receiver. Any ideas why this would be happening?and how can I fix this? H E L P
