  1. I like my 4.1's and I think you'll like yours. ------------------ I wish I had a space ship.
  2. What kind of a deivse is this? I have already tried using a Monster power grid thing that prommises to clean up the AC signal, but it did nothing. I guess I'll take a look at radio shack. How does this thing work? ------------------ I wish I had a space ship.
  3. Now this is pretty rich... I Think I have narowed down the cause of the problem to not be my speakers (thank god for that!) but the electrical wiring in my house! (D'oh!) I don't know why this would have sudenly become a problem within the last two weeks, your guess is about as good as mine. However, in desperation, I tried out my old speakers. While not having any tweaters to cut my brain in half with like these do, they did fall subjuct to an awful lot of white noise, regaurdless of the volume. I took them down stairs into the TV room, which has the newest wring in the house and they had the same problem. I had also tried this funky Monster Power Strip that we got for the new cable modem after the ld one got fubar'd in a lightning storm. It says it's suposed to clean up AC power... but it didn't do anything. I tried it in the TV room as well with no effect. I also tried using the old wire on one of the stalites and it didn't really make a difference to the bad noise, so I know it's nothing I did. Hehe... me, being me, I now find this noise much more talorable, knowing that it is not in fact the speakers, but the shaddy electric wiring in my house. Not to say that is likely any good for my speakers, but I don' think it'll hurt 'em either. As for using the power grid to turn them on and off.. Well, if that hurts them than that's just pretty damn weak. It's a good grid, so I'm not too scared. Hehe, at least now, the temptation to try to water cool my amp is all but gone! ------------------ I wish I had a space ship. This message has been edited by DarkWolf on 02-06-2002 at 11:58 PM
  4. That just about says it... When I turn them on (My KPM 4.1) after they have been off for a while (I use one of the switches on my power grid.) They are perfect, silent and perfect. After a few minutes of music, I can hear a high pitcxh noise... Can't quite explain it. It's not too loud, but it sure does get to me after a while. It doesn't make any difference what the volume is or weather or not the mute button is on or off... It is mostly coming through on the tweaters, but as it gets a little louder over time, I can tell it comes through on the midrange drivers too, if I get close and take the covers off. If I touch one of the drivers, it stops and it kind of sounds and feels like static electrcity build up in that way, but i don't think it is. I don't know what to make of it, I don't think i heard it untill I put these nice new cables in, which I like very much BTW. The sound also seems to fit right in with the upper range of the noise coming out of my computer, so it may be some sort of interfearance.. But then why it take a little while to set in? I've also tried removing the neon lights from my room and that doesn't work either... I kind of think it has to do with the amp warmming up, but then muting it should stop it and the amp doesn't get too hot anyway.. I also tried unplugging them from the computer. No change. Perhaps I need to shield the new cables I got? they are unshielded.. How would I do that? Thanks for any help, I know this is weird. ------------------ I wish I had a space ship.
  5. I got mine around a month ago and they work great. I upgraded them with gold plated banana plugs and better wires connecting the plugs to the leads and the sub to the satalites. they sound more like huge head phones now, it's great! http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/002654.html ------------------ I wish I had a space ship.
  6. Hello. I entered the Klipsch costomer base about a month ago when I bought my 4.1 set. Then I modded them! You can check it out on the sharky extreme forums. I am an old hand at Sharky extreme, though my post count is not staggering, I have been around for years. http://www.sharkyforums.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/002654.html ------------------ I wish I had a space ship.
