  1. Unfortunately, I haven't had a whole lot of time to listen to them yet. Right after I set them up I was listening to a few songs (and not even blasting them or anything) and I got up to check the center speaker because I thought it was on even though I had it in stereo. Definitely sounded like the sound was right there in the room. The 35 is still available last time I saw but I haven't talked to the guy again. $168 for the RC-62 II? That's not a typo? The price they have on their web site right now is $549. That would definitely be worth waiting to get. EDIT: I see it's an email special after searching, so I signed up. I wish I had known because I would have waiting on the RF-82's because the Fry's price of $229 each is less than I paid. I guess that didn't come up in my Google searching since it isn't an active price. The best price I could find was Crutchfield and it was a deal compared to that.
  2. I've got to stay out of the classifieds. I'm a sucker for a great deal. I guess I should have bought the RC-35 after all because the future already happened! I found someone selling a pair of brand new RC-82 II's and I couldn't pass it up. Already have someone lined up to hopefully buy my 26F's tonight. I think I'm in a good enough position with the 25C to be able to resell it and not loose any money if I really wanted to but I haven't even received it yet. I'll probably give it a try and see how it sounds before I do that but someone could buy that 35 at any time. Either way I should be good to go now! Wife wasn't thrilled the 82's are larger than the 26's though.
  3. Yeah, I totally understand that. I've been enjoying them greatly so far! Just for my "reference" in the current lineup is the order: Reference, then Reference Premier, and then Reference II?
  4. Ok, I understand. I was wondering where the Icon and Synergy ones I've seen for sale fell in the pecking order. They didn't visually look like they were as good of quality as these Reference ones I have but I haven't heard them. I was going to go ahead and get the RC-35 so that I'd be covered in the future if I wanted to upgrade but I managed to get a used R-25C on eBay last night for $85. Even though I was going to get the RC-35 for $125, this will be fine since I wasn't supposed to be spending any more money anyway. It's still an upgrade from the little Polks and I've been happy with those for years (even though I never really used them to listen to music) so I should be happy with these for a while.
  5. Gotcha. When you say some people hear an audible difference, do you mean that between the R-** and R*-** series? My receiver has the capability to lower output on the individual speakers so I guess I can do that. I might even be able to get the RC-35 for less than a similar used R-25C goes for since it's older is the main reason I asked this. I wasn't planning on buying any more but I'd like to get the center if I could and put it under the TV instead of over where the Polk is currently. I would say I'm a newbie to higher grade audio, I've always like good audio but I've never had the opportunity to be able to spend the money to get it! Going from the small Polk speakers to these made a huge difference so these should keep me happy for a while. I got it all for half what it cost new plus a receiver I'm going to use in the garage with some bookshelf speakers so I can't complain.
  6. I am trying to find out if it is bad or would cause issues to run an RC35 center channel speaker with R-26F fronts and an R-12SW subwoofer. I was planning on getting the matching R-25C but I found a local guy selling an RC35 for a decent price so I was considering picking that up instead. It looks like it's still reference series. Is there any reason I shouldn't get this and just wait for an R-25C? I just upgraded to these speakers after getting a good deal on them used. I've been wanting some Klipsch floor standing speakers forever and getting the sub was an added bonus. I was using Polk Audio RM8 speakers in the front before and am still using the center and surrounds (I don't think the surrounds are RM8 but it all came in a 7.1 kit together). When I get a chance to run some more wires, I'm going to Bi-Amp the 26F's since my receiver is capable of it.
