  1. Or what about a pair of Klipsch Quintets? I only need them for rear surround I was just wondering in the klipsch would be too efficient for my system?
  2. Will a pair of Klipsch KSB1.1 work in my Paradigm Monitor HT?? I have Monitor 5's and the Monitor center, has anyone ever mix Klipsch with the Paradigm? Thanks
  3. OK, I just ordered (online) my Home Theatre setup: Denon 3802 Klipsch RF3-ii (Fronts) Klipsch RC3-ii (Center) Klipsch RS3-ii (Suurounds?) Here's my questions: First, before I get the last 2 speakers to complete my 7.1 set up, should I put the surround speakers on the rear or the side surround channels? Are the RS3-ii's Wall Mountable? For the last two, should I get another pair of Dipoles or just get direct speakers? Lastly, for the two last speakers would I be able to get some smaller cheaper Klipsch Synergy Speakers to round out my system, or should I keep it timbre matched with the Ref 3's?
  4. Hi, I've decided on the Denon 3802, which has outputs of 7.1. For the rear and side channels should I get 2 pairs of surround speakers (Dipoles or Bipoles) or should I get one pair of direct and one pair of surrounds (Dipoles or bipoles) OR should I get two pairs of direct speakers. I know this is a matter of opinion, but I would use the receiver about 80-90% as a Home theatre. It seems every store I go into to the salesmen has his/her own opinion (and voices it) or doesn't have the all the configurations that the 7 channels setup could have. I am so confused about this. Thanks in advance.
  5. Thanks everyone. Jhawk thats exactly what I'm doing, I have (FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS) a Sony (all in the box) Pro-logic reciever and speaker setup. I know I'll be happy with the Denon and the Klipsch combo. The only thing I forgot to mention regarding the rear surrounds is that my couch is against the back wall. This is why I think I'll go with the surrounds in the rear (DiPole) so I could hang them on the wall on the sides of my couch and just let the Dipoles go to town...
  6. First of all, I would just like to thank everyone who has offered me very helpful suggestions. I am new to Home theatre so I hope my questions aren't too dumb. Anyway, I have chosen to go with the Klipsch Reference series to start my first home theatre. (except for the sub, maybe) Also, I must say that I have chosen Denon for my receiver of choice because of price, quality and options. Here lies my dilemma... I have narrowed it down to 3 receivers the Denon 1802, 2802 and the 3802. First, How important is those extra channels in the 2802 and 3802? Will I be able to use this feature with all of my movies "DVD's" or just a select handful? Do you think it's worth the extra money? Secondly, If I did go with the 3802 (7.1), would I put two pairs of surrounds speakers for the left and right surrounds and the rear surrounds or do you recommend a different speaker setup? Lastly, If I did get the 2802 (6.1), can I buy a single surround speaker for the rear or do I need to buy another center channel? Sorry if these seem dumb, but I wanted some advice before my purchase. This message has been edited by Miron88 on 02-28-2002 at 12:55 PM
  7. ...all I can say is WOW !!! I went to my neighborhood WIZ and they had the movie swordfish on and nobody but me in the listening room... hehe I had the RF-3ii, RS-3ii and some Klipsch Center channel (I think it might have been synergy) and a Klipsch sub (12"). The part with the hostage explosive made me feel like I was right in the middle of it, very, very clear sounding. The only thing that didn't smack me in the face was the sub, I listened to the same scene with and without the sub (because I will probably have to add a sub later) and with the sub only added (IMO) a minimal extra low end. Although, it was a floor model in the Wiz so possibly it could have been damaged too (I didn't check). But still, all I could say is WOW, I think I'm Sold on KLIPSCH !!!
  8. Thanks for all the help. I will go and check out some Klipsch setups tonight. To save money I think I will go with the Denon 1802 instead of the 3802 (Do I really need those extra 2 channels?) Then I figure my budget I can probably go with this Klipsch setup: Front RF-3II or RB-5II Center RC-3II Surrounds RS-3II and the Sub KSW-10 or KSW-12 Do you think this will work out good for a beginning Home Theatre? Also, do you know some places online that offer speaker setups at good prices. Thanks again for all the help. This message has been edited by Miron88 on 02-27-2002 at 09:29 AM
  9. Textf>Texts>Textc> Hi, I'm new to Home theatres, so let me apologize in advance for sounded ignorant, but I was reviewing speaker/receiver set-ups and I think I've narrowed down the reciever to the Denon 3802, which is rated 110 Watts x 7. My first question, as far as surrounds go, could I use speakers rated a maximum continuous wattage of 100 Watts? or would they get damaged with the extra 10 watts? 2nd question, I'm on a quest for speakers, I've been looking at Paradigm, which are reasonably priced and sound pretty sound. But Alot of people recommend the Klipsch speakers, but the reference line seems to be alot more expensive than the Paradigm, does Klipsch have speakers that could handle the denon 3802 (110 watts) that cost less than their reference line, also is the Klipsch Refernce line a much better quality than the Paradigm reference line. I can't find one store that has both for me to compare the two. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
