Hooked up the center yesterday. It sounded pretty good but I seemingly had to crank up the volume too much to get to the right level. Double-checked the wiring and it was out of phase. Corrected that and wow it sounds awesome!
Now I am leaning towards starting with a pair of RF-82 II's for $258 each at Fry's. How bad would they clash with an RP-450C? Would it be better to go with the RC-62 II? I'm sitting 10' away.
I can get open box RP-280F's and an RP-450C for about $1,250. RF7 II's and an RC-64 II for around $2,000 used which would really push the space limitations.
Decisions, decisions...
I'm pretty close to picking up a pair of RP-280F's and a RP-450C. I would then run them on a Onkyo TX-SR508 (80 watts x 7 into 8 ohms (20-20,000 Hz) at 0.08% THD) until I can figure out what receiver I really need. I also plan on waiting for Fry's to run a sale on the subs.
It looks like I might need to get a lower profile stand or wall-mount the TV. (The stand is just a holdover from my previous setup.)
This is as close to scale as possible of my front:
No I would put it on one side. Moving the stand out to have a flush look for the front stage.
I only have 4' to work with on either side and the stand currently comes out 24" from the wall. I suppose I could shift the stand a foot to the left or right. Wish I had the TV to play with. Delivery was scheduled for today but got rescheduled for Saturday.
Now I am thinking the R-240S and then splurging for the R-115SW. I would have to put the fronts near the corners and maybe pull the TV stand out a few inches to fit the giant sub.
