    Superb...

How did they know which end of the "sequential" serial number to get you so the set matched in terms of number 40 of 70?

The last four digits of the serial number go from 0001 to  0140 for all 70 pairs......  II received  0047 and 0048.   The even number  is divided by 2 to get you the 01 to 70 speaker number.   Also the box clearly state which two serial numbers should be matched together.  Klipsch made it bozo proof,  somehow they found a way to mess it up.

     My set is 24. (L, R).

I had  0068  which would have been  set 34(R).

It was a long road for such a simple purchase.

I will call tomorrow to speak with Clairz  T. Hopefully still there.

Thanks for the help. I am pumped!

Stay Hungry.  You'll be rewarded with some LS's 70th...    Even if Clairz is not around they know each others  "Handle"  .   Ask them to reference to her  so they can get the order right.  She contacted the Adorama  warehouse numerous times.   The key is to see the  serial numbers on the invoice.    Tell them you could care less what serial numbers they are as long as they are consecutive numbers for  the 70th Anniversary  LS model.    Ask them to call you back. Also get a time on when they will call you.  I gave them a two window. They usually  beat that time..If necessary  use the "I would like to speak with your manager"   technique. Worked or me.  Fyi. I never had to speak with a floor manager.

Turn it up to 11 !!!!!!!!

  3. It was not fun. But instead of taking it out on the dog, I let loose on them.😂

Basically, one must stay on the phone until you get resolution .  Once I figured out they did not understand . I used each call to solve one problem until  my final speaker was delivered.

Yes, it does take some effort.  Adorama owned up to their ignorance and  compensated properly.  Would I order again from them?  Yes if the product and price was right.   Worst case is you return it back to them.   I opted to hold out and get them to ship the correct  speakers, even after two botched shipments.

  4. Clairz T.   is one lady that I spoke with  a  ton.  I pushed her hard to get this right.  I think at this point she understands the importance of keeping these in pairs.  I went over in detail with her on the the consecutive numbers.       This can be done,  but you have to stay on them.    My hope is the  amount of time I hammered on them they would get it.  But I wouldn't count on it.  They have   at least a 100 phone operators.     Tell them you have spoke with Clairz T.  and that she understands what needs to be done on the Klipsch 70th Anniversary La Scalas.   Get her involved even if she is not involved.....Raising my dBs  helped in some cases:  But in this case it was not always about the sensitivity levels......Doh!

  5. Pan man you need to stay on it.  Adorama runs on Jewish holidays.   Saturday they are closed but  they are open Sunday.  Call them again tomorrow and verify the order then also insist they write down  the serial numbers on the invoice.  The serial numbers should be  consecutive.   The last four digits are  key.     Thus if you get  0067 then you should get 0068.  It states clearly on the box which speakers match together.

Then call again on Sunday to verify.  Also,  if you can have them  call you back to verify that the warehouse grabs two consecutive number speaker, do this and insist on it......     Send lots of emails because they typically respond  with the robot email.    Call again Monday.   Then check which shipping unit they are using.   Call the shipping outfit as soon as they get the items to Adorama and verify with them what the serial numbers are .   They cant fix it but at least you'll know if Adorama screwed up.    then start calling Adorama if there is a screw up .  Tell them to get it right.  Keep asking for manager .   I worked with the sales people but I was very firm with them.  Telling them what to do step by step.    Gave them my cell phone and insisted that they called me.

  6. Shipped them through Team World Wide Freight out of New Jersey.   Those guys know what they were doing.  They were an integral part in getting this serial number mixe up corrected.

I called their main office in New Jersey and had them go out on the floor to verify the serial numbers.  On the second screw up  they verified they had the wrong serial number.  Team World Wide sent a message to  the  Adorama warehouse tell them the customer was not happy with what they had shipped out and they should return  the speaker back for the correct serial number.   Adorama then put a few more folks on it and they obtained the correct serial number shipped that one and again I called Team World Wide . They(Tony/EJ)  verified the serial number to be correct.  We were all excited and they shipped  FAST!  1 day from Jersey to Dallas.  Once in Dallas they scheduled time , two days later  a pallet with both pieces arrived.  .

If you dont call ,  no matter what  TWW freight will ship  the  product.  What they  received from Adorama is out of their hands.  Which I understood.  But the fact that they  sent message to Adorama  to explain the issue was pretty good of them.  Very customer friendly and professional.

Dont get me wrong  all the above is B.S. way to run a company...  But what you have in Adorama is a company that deals  in  everything from hair dryers to  high end audio equipment.  And they do deals all over the world.   So they are by no means experts in  the customer service department on all the items.  They are robots.  Considering the sweetheart deal I received,   I was able to work around  the ineptness. Took 1.5 months , but now the only pain/pleasure being dished out is coming from some finely tuned horned speakers.

  7. Nope. i opened up the Top Tweeter/Mid and it was factory fresh.  Had the plastic wrap around the entire box and  top and bottom protectors.  Didnt dust it for finger prints but looked good.

They needed schooling on  how Klipsch built these matched pairs.  I spoke with the floor manager and explained the situaiton....  Told them it was in their best interest to  keep these in pairs . By doing so it will save them and the customer  time and money.

  8. They do have matching numbers.  But I suggest calling one of the Robot-Humans and  have them specifically  call down to the warehouse and verify the serial numbers on the  box for the pair of speakers.  Once they get those numbers then have the Robot Human put those numbers on the order invoice so when it is sent to the warehouse they hopefully grab the correct two speakers.  No guarantee but if you press hard enough it can happen. Also I forced them to call me  within two hours with the update that the matching serial numbers were in hand and being held for shipment to the one and only.   Throughout the entire BS process they did throw in some additional discounts for the mess up'.  My guess is they have quite a few pairs sitting in the warehouse.  Lots of bird-Shite on the top of the boxes with a fine layer of dust.    None the less,   24L and 24R will be perched in the front living room shortly as both are in my possession.

  9. Acknowledged!  I received that discount and then some.  The warehouse folks did not have a clue what they were shipping.   Month and half later I finally have the matching pair in my possession. They wasted too much of my time.   I'll post them side by side with the  birch pair I have.

  10. 1.5 months later and the nightmare from  speaker hell is over.  The Matching 70th Anniversary Scala speaker has arrived after multiple mis - shipments.  They actually shipped the same speaker with the incorrect serial number  back to me  multiple times.  uggh.... But after much bitching and multiple discounts and comp  the deal was sweetened and closed.   The twins are now together.  Next step is to unpack.  Looking forward  to  letting them breathe and the final step of the informal introduction to the neighbors.  I will post both side by side  next to my  2002 birch pair of LS's.

  11. Correct,  there were 70 pairs made.   They ship in two pieces. (mid/tweet and Woof).  At  ~180 lbs this saves the back.  These boys have hit the buffet once too often.  Makes my 1999's Scala' feel like a feather.

Since keeping these 70th Anniversary as twins is imperative, the match is in transit toot sweet....

Pallet took a beating as can be seen.
