  1. Just an update... I finally recieved my new sub/amp for the 2.1's and it works great... The rear temp is only 92 degrees after an hour of testing it out... Much cooler than 130 degrees... Thank you Amy for helping with this... Guys, she was instrumental in prosessing the claim... Great gal to work with and I highly recommend her... Lyle Rhodes
  2. Just an update... Amy sent me to their RA department and the engineers said that 120-130 was indeed to hot and I should replace it... They would not cross ship but did sell me another sub/amp and then will refund the defective unit when I return it... So far, good responce but I have yet to receive a tracking number or, of course, the sub... Federal Express Ground is bringing it and they offer little to be desired... LR
  3. I have only had them for @ 4 months... I will contact Amy and see what is up... Thanks guys and I'll let you know... LR
  4. After 10 minute at full load and my wife throwing a fit the back unit has risen only 2 degree's... This heat is coming from the upper portion of the back metal plate and is very hot to the touch... Any body out there have the 2.1's whom can see if there unit is hot to the touch? Be careful as it is very hot... LR
  5. Thanks for all the feedback... The IR gun is very accurate and has been tested... It is used to measure track temps for NASCAR and NHRA racing... I used to be associated with these guys, in an odd way... The sub is more than a foot from any wall but is under the computer table... The temp, now @127F, is at idle, 72F ambient... I haven't tried it under an load... Everything is working bueatifully other than the heat that is being ommitted... This you can actually feel the heat radianting from under the table... LR
  6. On the back of the unit (where all the wires connect, the on/off switch, and the fuse is located) is reaching about 130 degrees... It appears to me to be where the amp and power supply are... I have an IR temp gun providing me with this reading... I just wondered if this temp was normal... LR BTW, XP ROCKS...
  7. The rear of the sub, where the amp is (I'll assume heatsink)... And yes I saw the other Fourm once I posted... Apologies... LR
  8. The ProMedia 2.1 THX®-Certified speakers sub and power supply (in the rear of the unit) is running at 130 degrees... Is this normal? Everything appears to be working properly...
