Here they are...with sequential s/n's! Surrounds look pretty good but may need a little TLC. I've also been reading about the Crites diaphragm upgrade as an option.

I'm now the proud owner of my first pair of Klipsch speakers! Picked up a pair of KG 4.2s yesterday that are in nice shape and auditioned very well. I'll share more after I get them set up.

I called the Santa Cruz number last night on the Chorus speakers... seller didn't pick up and voicemail box was full! Thanks for the tip on checking out the drivers! I'm going to check out a pair of KG 4.2's today here in San Jose.

Thanks...but I'm a dummy on some of the technical aspects and new to speaker shopping... how do I check if the drivers works? Can you share where the Chorus II's in Santa Cruz are listed... here on Garage Sale? I just looked at CL and eBay and didn't see them.

Yes, my college roommate had a pair and I've always liked Heresy's. I'm keeping a lookout for a good pair of Heresy II's as well... at the right price.

Thanks for all the welcomes... this sounds like a fun bunch! I'm located in San Jose, CA and my budget is roughly $200-300 +/- $50. I'm starting with 2 channels and may upgrade to 2.1 in the future. I saw a pair of KG 4.2 speakers on CL for $250 and wondered if that's a good price. I'm getting a hand-me-down Pioneer SX-780 receiver from a friend this weekend, so I'll hook that up to my current speakers and see how it sounds. And to answer Tarheel's question... it depends and it varies!! My vinyl collection is here at home and my CD collection is staying elsewhere until I decide to add a CD player to the home system. My budget doesn't allow for tubes at this time... Thanks again and look forward to more good info! Let me know if I should take this topic to a different forum.
