  1. Thank you for the recommendations gents, greatly appreciated. It sounds like the audio store I bought them must have stretched the truth a bit, as they did tell me they were warranted for life. Of course, these days, nothing is warranted for life, including the places that tell you their merchandise is. The place I bought these speakers was in Orlando, Fl called Audio Spectrum. They went out of business many years ago. I still have the receipt for them along with the paperwork. I learned of these speakers when a husband/wife lived downstairs from me in a townhouse on a lake in Orlando. He was a doctor. He kept his ski boat on the small lake this townhouse was on and would go water skiing on weekends. When he did, he would put his music on and turn it up so he could hear it while he was water skiing. Fortunately for him the rest of us that lived in that townhouse loved the music too. When I heard him do that the first time, I told myself I had to have a pair of those speakers. Anyway, I'll pull the back off them and see if your suggestions help the woofers. Thanks again !
  2. I purchased a set of Cornwall I's back on 3/27/1984 in plain birch and when they came in I stained them in walnut and varnished them. They turned out very nice. They were supposed to have the black grilles, but they came in with the cane grilles instead and since they looked good I still have them installed. Needless to say, they were used extensively since I absolutely love my music. In the last 35 years, there were extended periods of time they were not used, however. Today, when I listen to music the highs and midrange are still crisp, but the subwoofer doesn't sound as tight as it used to. On songs that carry a lot of bass, every now and then I believe I can hear a little rattle from them. Being a music lover, but not technical, my question is this; do these speakers need periodic maintenance or a check up to verify they are still operating as intended and to the best of their ability ? If yes, how does a person go about getting that done short of sending them back to Klipsch for a refurbishment ? Also, how do I verify they are still under warranty as my understanding was they carried a lifetime warranty. I apologize for the questions in advance, since they are not very technical in nature. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
