WAY to much to go into, but -especially concerning this topic-the moderaters were like the 'Geshtapo' concerning posts about this pj-probably because they didn't have a sponser who sold it.anyway i got banned, and i think they have gotten too big for their britches. there are alot of great and informed people who post there, so i would encourage ?'s to be asked there.just be advised that those who run avs (in my opinion) have lost sight of the purpose of the sight. i have so much to ask and offer, yet i can no longer ask or answer ?'s there. btw-this is the place i call HOME avman. ---------------- avman, did the mods ever tell u why u were banned? i've been there for over a year and all the folks i am aware of who got banned in the audio sections while i have been reading, have brought it on themselves, Minn_Male42 included. i don't go into the projectors forum so i am not aware of what went down there. u may have been treated unfairly but i would like to know the reason they gave u the boot. as many of us on this forum have found, minn_male42 wasn't as innocent as he painted himself up to be...every story has 2 sides and i always like to get all the info before drawing a conclusion.
  2. yes, a big time congrats on the home! the home is more important than the HT...after all it is the first part of the word "Home Theater" so without a home, you can't have HT/ but this also means that you most likely won't be getting the HT system for awhile as unexpected/unplanned costs alway arise as a result of home ownership. homes seem to be able to sense when they are going to acquire a new master and cause things to break accordingly...how they know, i'm not sure.

I like the AVS forum and have noticed the strong Rocket fan base over there. When I began my speaker search not too long ago, I had a desire to hear them for myself. Alas, as a right-coaster, not too many Rocket systems around here for me to check out. After my audition at a Tweeters where Klipsch KILLED all others (up to and including Sonus Faber) to my (and my wife's) ears, I wrote Rockets off, figuring they may be great compared to "normal" types of speakers, but also assumed they would fall into the grouping as the Viennas and Sonus Fabers that I heard. After reading some of the posts on the thread at AVS from experienced Klipsch'ers that BECAME Rocket fans, my desire to at least audition Rockets has been re-kindled. There were claims made there that the Rockets produced all the detail of the Klipsch. I really have to hear that to believe it, but if so, I want to know it!!!! Anyway, that thread did more to boost the Rocket line than to bash it from what I read. Made me want to look at 'em again. It's a shame the moderator killed it. Y'all were perfect gentlemen over there! I think it's when some of the posts over HERE came to light that they got PO'd. Kinda fun, anyway! Gordon ---------------- Gordon, I think I can save you a little time. The Rockets are much more like the other cone and dome speakers you compared the Klipsch's to than they are like the Klipsch's. If in your opinion the Klipsch's KILLED the Vienna's and Sonus Fabers Tweeter had laying around, then you sir are a Klipschead. My advice would be to go forth and enjoy! ---------------- i agree wholeheartedly with bigwally on this. if u felt the Klipsch sounded better to your ears than SF and VA, then u won't be happy w/ the Rockets either. the Rockets are voiced "similarly" to the SF and VA both of which I have auditioned before.

Bill PS: The poll was closed, but the results were posted by Tom_B, hence no electronic shredding. Sorry for getting carried away. It is only Rocket that seems so unlikely. b ---------------- Hi Bill, Actually, since I wondered about the integrity of the poll and wanted to check on the controls, I tried voting again after I submitted my vote but the choices had been replaced by the poll results even when I logged in at a later time. Since my DSL assigns a new IP address each time, I should have been able to vote with each new IP address however the voting was tied to my user ID. The second scenario that one person creating multiple user accounts is possible given that the individual could create one with each and every email address he/she has. However, I would find this unlikely. Possible but unlikely. I believe that if the poll was administered on the soundandvisionmag forum, the results would have been skewed towards B&W as that forum is very B&W friendly. Axiom and Norh speakers would most likely have fared very well on HarmonicDiscord. The AVScience forum just so happens to have a very dedicated following for AV123's products such as the Divas and Rockets. Again, with something as unimportant and trivial as a speaker poll, do you really and I mean REALLY think that folks would go through the trouble of stuffing the ballot box??? Besides if Rocket folks are accused of doing it, wouldn't it be fair to say that the others could also have been duplicated as well? If so, then the entire poll is invalid since there is no data integrity at all. If the poll results came out stating that B&W held 30% of the votes while the others combined only garnered 70%, would you be more accepting of the results even though the data could be just as easily manipulated? Has it occurred to you that maybe the Rockets fared so well in the vote simply because they are a good product and people like the way they sound. But ultimately it doesn't matter anyways since I would never buy based soley on forum recommendations. A recommendation will serve as a trigger to begin my research on a particular product but i always like to audition the product first before pulling the final trigger to buy something. So even though the Rockets came out on top in the voting by alot, I would still do my due diligense so as to insure that I enjoy a speaker.

Cool! Anyways, we have yours truly, RussKon, to solely thank for the closing of all the threads. Like they say, one bad egg is all it takes to ruin it for us all... Rockets score typically runs about 25%. Their share of the actual market is, I supect, less than 1%. Someone (not Tom) on AVS may be "cooking the books" on the survey it would appear. Take a look at the survey results. Make up your own mind as to the likelyhood that the survey and Rocket threads are not being boosted by someone. I do not mean to imply in any way that the speaker company has anything to do with it. I am genuinely sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings at AVS. That said, their forum obviously has its own problems. Bill ---------------- Bill, You might want to check the facts before accusing anyone of cooking the books...after all, it's not like AVS forum is an accounting firm...Each member can only vote in a poll ONE time. You can only create one log in from an IP address. Why would anyone have the time, desire or need to inflate a poll for something as insignificant as speakers??? It's not like it will impact the results of a presidential election or anything. IMHO, I don't think the books were cooked. Keep in mind that AVSforum is a VERY Rocket friendly environment and based on that FACT alone, the Rockets would naturally come out on top. For the record, I do own Rockets and Reference 1 speakers all manufactured by AV123.com BUT I do make it a point to continue to listen to as many other brands as possible and I have nothing against Klipsch speakers. In fact, I am distantly related to you Klipsch'rs as I am an Aragon owner.
