That's the finest piano finish I've ever seen and one I'd love to be able to do. No time to see if you've revealed the precise steps in the finish, but hope you have...we'd all like to know.

I've about 12 UV201s and never found a way to test them.  They LOOK good, but the only way to fire up the old radio they are in/came with (there were a sixpack of possibly NIB tubes in the battery compartment) is with a 90V DC power supply.  Don't have one and they are NOT cheap.

Hard to tell from the small image, but can it do a UV201?
