  1. Thank you to all of you. I agree with not cutting corners. That is definitely not the plan. That’s why I’m asking for help because I am a bit worried about picking the lesser center channel. I hear from a lot of people that the 504c is the better option since it’s supposed to have stronger bass response as well as a wider sweet spot, however, I’m curious as to if the smaller driver sizes will be apparent when listening to movies compared to the 600c. So far on here it looks like no matter what option I take I should be happy so that makes me feel much better about it all. Thanks again and if anyone else wants to drop any more opinions I will greatly appreciate that as well. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. I was hoping for better feedback than that. That doesn’t really help much at all. There are pros and cons to both options and I was hoping to hear from others that have/had one or the other what they thought. Thanks anyways though. Haha Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I did the deal at Crutchfield which was buy 2 RP6000’s and get the SPL 100 for free. I have the Sony STR DN1080 for a receiver and I will say that I am very satisfied with my set up. Going from the Samsung MS650 sound bar and sub to this was a massive upgrade. Music and movies have never been better. I dinked around with them a lot and got the phantom center to work for now but I really want to get an actual center channel for them. I saw that the only center channel that matches the driver size of the 6000’s is the 600c, as to be expected, however I was curious if the 504c would be better. I know that matching driver sizes is a good idea because as sound pans across from right to center to left it will sound uniform but I’m wondering if the 504c with quad 5.25 drivers would have an audible difference. Another factor to consider is that right now I have a 3 seat couch and audio performance is phenomenal for all seats at the moment but I am planning on getting a sectional and I was wondering what benefits/drawbacks each center would have. If you have any questions give me a holler and I would greatly appreciate your two cents! Thanks everyone! P.S. Please forgive me for the placement of my receiver. It doesn’t fit in the entertainment center. Purchasing a tv riser next week so that it won’t remain an issue.
  4. Looks like I may just need to give them a bit more time or look into upgrading amps. I can still return them till Jan 14th. But right now there is a deal on Crutchfield that if I buy two RP8000s I can get the 12 inch sub for free so I think I want to go that route anyways since that’s a pretty great deal! the sound has gotten better after I adjusted the positioning again a bit as well as having them playing all day that I’m at work has seemed to help. Also found it depends on the quality of the song. Some tracks literally sound like you’re in the room with them. Goo Goo dolls the song Name is a great example. The killers also sound great and have that effect as well as MTV unplugged AIC and Nirvana. Songs that don’t give that effect would be most modern “hardcore” bands like Memphis may fire, all that remains (sounded especially thin and jumbled), as well as older bring me the horizon. Seeing that many of my gripes dealt more with the source makes me feel a lot better and makes me appreciate them much more since it’s more than likely a major factor in what was bothering me.
  5. Picked up the 820’s at Best Buy 5 days ago. First impression are that they look/feel surprisingly well put together. I have had them breaking in for the last five days almost continuously. The first thing I noticed is that out of the box their music reproduction was not really that good at all. I wasn’t impressed. The clarity was there. The bass was definitely there. These definitely put out a lot of bass for what they are, however, the mids just were not there at all. It was a very lean listen. When I watched movies it didn’t bother me at all. They are crystal clear, they image very well, and they have that punch in the bass so naturally they are great with movies. I’m hoping they open up a bit more over the next couple weeks or I will be replacing them with the RP6000’s since I have heard them before multiple times in different environments and was blown away. I was just trying to save a couple bucks. They do look really great in my living room though.
  6. Thank you to both of you. I am hoping someone does pop in that has experience with both of those system but what you were saying with the RF7’s I whole heartedly agree. I have heard them in stereo before and I have never fell in love with a speaker so much as. I did that day. It was mind blowing. Those dual 10inch woofers and larger tweeter work wonders. You’re set up is literally my dream set up unfortunately I’m at a point where I can’t fork over that amount of cash right now. I can only make due with the budget I have provided. However if there ever becomes a time where that’s not an issue I’ll be throwing the set up I choose on for now in the bedroom and dropping those big guys in the theater room. I keep looking for a good deal on used ones but my one chance that I had found they were sold before I could pull the trigger. Who knows maybe I’ll get lucky and see another set pop up. If not though then I’ll be between the reference base series and the Reference Premiere. And from what I heard when I auditioned the Premiere line I can’t say that I would be disappointed at all considering my current set up is a Samsung MS650 sound bar and subwoofer. I just want something with more punch and audio separation. The sound bar is too muddy when it comes to music and doesn’t punch hard enough during movies. Not to mention my fiancé always wants the subtitles on since she can’t really understand what people are saying haha. She’s totally on board with us getting a nicer set up! I’m one of the lucky few. Thanks for your comments both of you. I will keep on my trek and for anyone else that drops in please throw your opinions in on the matter. The more the merrier!
  7. Hey guys, I’m new here. Looking for recommendations as well as feedback on these products from users that have them in home. My listening space is 16ft long by 15ft wide with 10ft flat ceilings. I primarily listen to 80’s metal (Metallica, Iron Maiden), to 90’s grunge (Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots) as well as early 2000’s rock (Sevendust, Bring Me The Horizon). I’m looking for a great set up that I can use half and half for music and home theater. I have a budget of $1500. I’ve seen the reference series line up on sale a lot and think it would be nice to get the 820f’s/620f’s, R34c, and R51m. However I have seen a few reviews down talk them on dynamics as well as timing. Also heard the the reference center channel is not very good at all and that it doesn’t fit the sound signature of the rest of the speakers. I’d like for you guys to shed some light on this for me on how it has worked for you. If this is a great beginning set up and you haven’t had these issues then I’m inclined to get them. I have heard them already at My local Best Buy and they seemed pretty good but I couldn’t play my own content so it was hard to gauge how they would handle my listening habits. Another option would be for me to go the Reference Premiere route. I heard them as well and I loved them however it would be a long time for me to get a full set up going that route. I’m not opposed to that at all, however, that’s why I’m asking about the base series and if they are truly not good at all and have those issues or if that was just an unfortunate occurrence for that reviewer. I have had faulty speakers before and found that when I got them replaced the issues I had were no longer there. Hoping that is the case with what happened in that review. If I went Reference Premier then I’d like opinions for based on my room size what size towers would be best as well as center and rears. I’m getting my subwoofer from SVS so that part is taken care of. I’ll thank you all ahead of time and say any one that wants to drop their 2 cents is more than welcome. Thanks again! :D This is the review I’m referring to. https://www.whathifi.com/us/reviews/klipsch-reference-base-2018-home-cinema-package
