  1. HI anyone, I'm wiring my new family room for speakers. I used Monster 12-2 wire, which had a whit PVC cover. Unfortunatly I ran out and need more...tomorrow. I got that off the internet. No one local had the same wire. I can get Monster 12 guage but it seems flimsy. Or I can get Monster 12g car wire which is thicker and covered but is twisted clear and blue wires.... supposedly for better bass response. An electronics store local has 12 guage wire 265 thread I think which is covered in PVC too.. Any suggestion as the best option? Will it matter? I'm over a barrel at the moment. Thanks, Doc
  2. HI all! I have a Denon 4800. I also have a Denon 5200 preamp used for the rear surround. Is there a better way to setup my system? I'm kind of a novice as you can tell <G>, and I've packed my manual to move so I can't look it up. I've read where someone ran the xtra amp to the 2 mains, and let the main..say 4800...run the other speakers. Is this a better way to go? Advantages? disadvantages? I want to max my system, which sounds good to me, if I can, but the intricacies of Home Theatre isn't my forte!<g> I'd appreciate some advice. I will be running Rf7's, Rc-7, rs7(sur) and 2 RC3II's as the rear surounds, with a subwoofer as well. Any suggestions are appreciated as always!
  3. Hi, I went with another RC-3II in the rear, since I have one used as a center now. They're not too expensive so I'll try that first. I was contemplating using double surrounds as well as the rears, but wasn't sure how it would sound. When we move in I may hook up a couple of my other speakers just to get an idea. If I don't like the two RC3's I can always try the RS7's again!<g> Doc
  4. Thanks again...I don't think the SPeakers are all in yet, so I'll see if I can get the Rc7's instead for the rears...
  5. HI, Thanks for the reply....how bad will they sound?
  6. I forgot to add the rears run on a separate Denon amp tied in...
  7. HI everyone, I justed purchased a Klipsch RF-7 system for my new house's family room. I've read alot of discussion on the pseakers in the previous thread, and just wanted to know if my ideas are OK...I have a Denon 4800 receiver. My room dimensions are 26L X 24W with a vaulted ceiling. The TV will be a Pioneer Elite 720. I got the RF-7's and RC-7, and a pair of RS-7's for side surrounds and a pair for rear speakers. I plan on my main listening area to be 12-14 feet from the TV. I should be able to position the side speakers between windows about even with the listening area, and the rears about behind on either side of the big window. The front will be optimum and the center channel on top of the tv. ANy suggestions? I'm not an *audiophile* so any help or considerations would be appreciated! Thanks Doc
