I went to pick up, the 1995 klipschorn with wood horn and medium BC DCM 50-8, tweeter DE 10-8 in Evian near the Swiss border, 7 hours drive from my home, after a very good meal at my vendor.
Loading the animals, heavier than the original they are covered with Matson, a very heavy sheet tar.
Arrived at home, I closed the backs and repainted the back with 2 sheets of 20 MM filmed CP, the edges cut at 45 degrees and a piece of plywood in between.
All screwed on the outside.
In the lower part a spacer to fix the cheek.
The pictures will speak more.
I am delighted with the result, especially with my rounded walls.

Pour ton nouveau projet, pourquoi tu n'écoutes pas déjà les Khorn comme ça sans les fermer, peut-être que les coins arrondis vont convenir. Ensuite pour les fermer je suis certains que les gars ici te conseilleront au mieux. Ils sont très sympas et aiment aider les possesseurs de Klipsch. Je vais suivre ton sujet avec intérêt 👍

I just bought a pair of 1995 Horn in walnut, modified with Eliptrac BC DCM 50-8 horn midrange, TWEETER BC DCM 10-8 C, ES 400 AND ES 5800 ALK filter.
That I'm going to l ook for 500 km near the Swiss border, I live in Cassis near MARSEILLE in France.
They will replace the 1978 Belles in super condition, low reflex tweaked by the top part, with ALK filters, and kappa 15 C woofer, and BC De120 tweeter replacing the 77, Belles that work perfectly with Jadis blocks, Lightspeed attenuator preamplifier, Dac LaVoce S3, Ambre streamer.My problem can be seen on the picture, I don't have right angles but rounded.
But I'm not discouraged for if I can, I decided to close the klipschorn.Is it important that the plywood is placed on the outside of the bass box, to be like a wall or on the inside so I lose the thickness of the plywood thanks for your support.

Après différents tests et écoutes avec le volume agrandi avec la partie haute, pour l'instant j'ai refermé les évents bass reflexà l'intérieur et j'ai mis de laine de verre non tassée, c'est là que les basses sont les mieux, j'ai aussi testé avec Audio line-up test tones (calibration reference check) audio check trouvé sur qobuz, la le 30 hz fait tremblé les murs, ije referais des essais une fois mise en place du tweeter CT 120 et les crossovers universel ALK
et surtout des essais, réalisés par Pierre :
BonjourJ'ai fais des simulations de charge de votre HP, d'abord en bass reflex suivant les volumes que vous m'avez indiqués. J'ai retenu 121 litres.Ensuite j'ai fait la même chose en clos, non amorti (sans laine de verre) et amorti (avec laine de verre), le volume est augmenté d'un rapport de 1.2 soit 145 litres (laine de verre non tassée)Bien entendu ces simulations ne tiennent pas compte de l'effet du pavillon replié.BASS REFLEX1er courbe: courbe de réponse du HP. Surtension de + 6.5 dB, pas terrible. 40 Hz à -3dB, amplitude 9.5 Db Montre bien que ce HP n'est pas adapté au bass reflex2em courbe: réponse de l'évent. Centré sur 55 Hz n'a pratiquement aucun effet. La forme théorique devrait être une cloche, on en est loin3em courbe: courbe d'impédance. Le premier pic est la résonance de l'évent, le deuxième celle de HP dans son enceinte, le minimum entre les deux est la fréquence d'accord de l'évent (38,25 Hz). En théorie les deux pics devraient avoir la même amplitude mais ce n'est pas critique. Par contre ATTENTION minimum inférieur à 4 ohm sur une zone à haute énergieENCEINTE CLOSE NON AMORTIE ( sans laine de verre). 40 Hz à -3 dB, surtension de + 2.25 dB. Amplitude 5.25 dB.1er courbe: réponse du HP, légère surtension + 2.25 dB, c'est mieux2em courbe: courbe d'impédance (< 4 ohm attention)ENCEINTE CLOSE AMORTIE (laine de verre non tassée)1er courbe: réponse du HP 38 Hz à -3 dB surtention de 1.8 dB. Amplitude 4.8 dB.2em courbe: courbe d'impédance, même remarqueJ'en tire comme conclusion que le bass reflex n'apporte rien par rapport à l'enceinte close si ce n'est une forte surtension ainsi qu'une chute brutale du niveau. Ce qui me parait normal vu les caractéristiques du HP graveATTENTION ceci il ne s'agit là que de simulation sur des bases connues, qui ne sont qu'informatives et à prendre avec prudence.Réaliser des essais avec ces différentes charges me semble raisonnables d'autant que cela ne génère que peu d'investissement, juste un peu de laine de verre (ET PAS AUTRE CHOSE)A+PIERREL -
