  1. My appologies if I read your comments and took them a different way. I received another email from Gentech today as I've let them know about all the problems and told them about all our comments on this forum how there are these issues....he said to me ' try doing to firmware update' . Well that is ridiculous since I told him I did all updates when I first set up the Bar 48. I don't even think they were reading my complaints....As DaleG said, Klipsch's employees and alternate warranty agencies have NO idea what is happening to these units. I hope a company with a reputation as high as one that Klipsch has, will solve these issues so they can be trusted again in the soundbar department. Wish I had a stand alone home so I could buy their floor standing speakers and their component speakers......those ones kick ***!
  2. Why the sarcastic comment ? The Klipsch Bar 48 is a failure.
  3. Hi KevinB, See my response to DaleG's earlier post...I decided to return my Bar48 and get an LG system instead.
  4. Hi DaleG, the past few days my Bar 48's subwoofer was dis-connecting from the bar and the Bluetooth was crackly and not playing properly. After returning the Surround 3 speakers for a refund....I decided to box up the Bar 48 and take it back. I got an LG SL6Y soundbar instead of getting a Klipsch replacement. So far so good! I'd say the LG soundbar has better sound compared to the Klipsch but the subwoofer that comes with it, is a bit weenie....It's a 6" sub but much smaller enclosure compared to the Klipsch. I can still control the volume for the sub, and the LG bar seems to have more audio settings, and even an equalizer to fine tune the highs and lows. Also LG has surround speakers available similar to the Klipsch ones however I can't seem to find them anywhere just yet....everyone is sold out! I was really hoping the Klipsch would work out but seems you and lots of other Klipsch owners are having the same issues.
  5. I returned the Surround 3 speakers and didn't want a new replacement as I don't think a new pair would of solved the problem. Now the Bluetooth connection is not working properly....almost like it is skipping or slowing down my music either from downloaded tunes from my phone, or when I use Radioplayer app on Q107...this just started today and I'm starting to get very annoyed. The Bricks' return policy is 7 days! Can you believe that....Now I am going to have to get back in touch with Gentech and request a replacement for my unit. This is crazy. Anyone else have Bluetooth issues?
  6. Thank you KevinB that is great that someone phoned you! I've been in touch with Gentec in Markham Ontario who does the warranty for Klipsch here and he suggested I return my Surround 3 to Bestbuy for a new pair as they may be 'defective'. I'll give that a shot over the weekend and let you all know how the sound is.
  7. Well it is a blu-ray player / amplifier all in one but it was connected to my old tv with an hdmi cable as well.
  8. Thank's for the tip, I'll have a look at the back of it to see if it has an optical output.
  9. Hi Dale, yes the surround light is on but the Dolby isn't while I have the movie playing...and the sound is minimal from the 2 Surround speakers. I'm starting to think it may be my blu ray player.....I'll look to see if it has the optical out as suggested by Kevin.
  10. Blu Ray is connected to my tv via hdmi cable and I wonder if it's because its an old player? Like 10 years old. I dunno, I hate all this new technology crap, it never seems to work properly. I replaced my Sony BDV-IZ1000W surround system with the new Klipsch but I am still using the Sony blu ray player. The only reason I upgraded was the Sony wasn't playing audio through it's speakers when I got the new LG tv. When it worked, it was great though.
  11. I just started playing another bluray disc with digital dolby and the dolby light is not on the soundbar...similar to when I had the Dark Knight in...I wonder why that is ? Netflix through my tv however has the digital dolby light on.....weird.
  12. I didn't check to see if the Dolby Digital light was on during the movie however when I have Netflix running, that light is on and the sound is more noticeable...I haven't taken them back yet and it seems as though they are getting better day by day some how.
  13. I watched "The Dark Knight" yesterday with my Surround 3 speakers and it sounded like the centre speaker audio was coming through them, not surround. Still not very loud at all and the way I have them set up, is for my listening pleasure...anyone else in the room would not be able to enjoy it due to the direction the speakers need to be for me to hear it. I think I will return them to Best Buy and get my money back. Very Disappointing from a brand like Klipsch. 🔇
  14. I've googled what the best surround movie to watch is, and seems it is The Dark Knight from the Batman collection...which I have. So I will give that a shot in a few hours and let you know if the Surround is any better. As of right now with the TV on, still very faint volume....You know on the Klipsch website it says these Surround speakers are 60W however if you look closely where the cord is plugged in, it says 35W. Since I am in a condo, I can only use the system with loud bass during the day out of respect for my neighbours. Fingers crossed.
