I think it would, but would cost a lot of money to replace what we currently have (Klipsch SUB-12HG and HD 500 surround). I'm not sure what I could pair with these Heresy's to make them part of a surround system. A salesman at Crutchfield suggested some Klipsch speakers several years back, but they weren't wireless. I guess I'll need to do some research before going that route.

billybob, you're absolutely correct. The sales receipt from Ramstein's AV club lists them simply as Klipsch Heresy speakers ($440 total in Apr '83), the instruction sheet says they're the Heresy H-700. DOM appears to be 1980, the instruction sheet's dated Feb 1981. It also says it's not recommended to exceed 100 WPC, but they've never complained about being driven hard by the Carver (201 WPC). Regardless, they're awesome sounding speakers that will hopefully be with us for another 36 years!

A lot of frustrations in this house we bought, an odd layout in the LR just one of many irritations. I think we've worked up a good solution (it helps when my wife's friend said she wouldn't get rid of them either...that response shocked me!). Here are the Carver pics. A few minor scratches on both, but they look a lot better than similar equipment I see listed on eBay and other sites these days. I can't decide if I'll part with them or not. It would be nice to have one unit driving everything (the Yamaha's pretty stout, but it's nowhere near as powerful as the M400t). I guess I'll decide when we get the new setup in place and I see how much room's in the cabinet, and if it's possible to hide all the wires in a raceway. Time will tell.........

Well, I guess I reached my 2 MB limit (probably due to that first image of the signature label, which was huge). Here are the other images. The only blemish on these speakers is some stain which got away from me on the rear top right corner of the "left" speaker.

I think my wife and I have worked out a compromise: we'll get a new TV stand that allows for storage of the electronics (Carver amp/preamp, Yamaha surround receiver, Blu-ray & CD players, DirecTv receiver) and a curio cabinet for her knickknacks. The challenge will be hiding the sub's wires, which will run in front of a fireplace; I think I can hide them pretty well with a raceway, although angles will be a challenge. Here are a few photos, more to come.

wuzzzer, I haven't even sold them yet and I regret even thinking about parting with them! I joined the USAF in '80 and had JBL L100 speakers. I bought these in '83 to "supplement" them...pretty sure most of my neighbors in Germany at that time didn't appreciate the concerts I shared with them. Driven by the Carver amp (M-400) this duo sounded very impressive. Had to sell the JBLs in '87 after we bought a house and our first kid came along (sold/pawned a lot of stuff that I wish I didn't have to, but nobody that I know of got rich off an Air Force salary!). The only gripe I had on the Heresy II was that it was a little weak on the on the bottom end. 30 years later I fixed that, bought Klipsch SUB-12HG. I really, really like this pairing. The JBLs had a solid bottom end, but nothing like the Klipsch sub (obviously). I've also got a HD 500 surround system that, if I sell the Heresy's, will go as well and I'll probably go to a Klipsch 5.1 wireless setup. The home we purchased somewhat dictates this based on the room size and lack of wiring (wife would NOT be cool with me running wires like I did back in the day). It's been a hectic week, hope to find some time to unpack the stereo tomorrow and post pix.

I'm sorry I'm only responding now, but didn't get any notifications that there were responses to the topic. i live in Niceville, FL, which is in the NW portion of Florida. I'm in the midst of moving in still so I haven't unpacked any of the stereo equipment. I will make it a point to do so in the next day or so (and will include photos of my Carver equipment as well -- thanks for the suggestion billybob).

I apologize if this is the wrong area to ask this question, new to the Klipsch AC. I have a pair of Klipsch Heresy II speakers that I purchased at Ramstein AB, GE, Audio/Video Club in 1983. Paul Klipsch happened to be doing the Germany AV circuit at the time and signed labels that were affixed to speakers sold while he was there. These still sound as good as they did when new (how many things these days hold up after 36+ years?!). I'm considering selling them and going to a Klipsch wireless surround system due to the layout of our home, wondering if having Mr. Klipsch's signature lends any additional value to the speakers? I hate to part with them (and the Carver components that I also bought at that time and have driven them with all these years), but size constraints are forcing my hand, interested in what the KAC thinks about this.
