Global Groove 6: Which brand of 16AWG speaker wires did you buy? Yeah, most Radio Shacks in Canada only carry 2 mono plugs per store. I will have to go to 2 today to get all 4. I live in Vancouver, BC btw.

I'm going to do my speaker wire upgrade according to Justin of Soundwise's instructions. Any last minute pointers or tips before I start?

I just purchased a pair of Promedia 4.1's and I've not come across a problem with them. Reviews on the internet say they're top notch speakers. However, when I read this forum, I see a lot of you guys complaining about hissing, buzzing, you name it. Now I understand that it's much cheaper to buy these speakers on the net such as Best Buy, E Bay etc. I bought mine at a retail store and I paid a damn premium on them alright. Could it be that the products sold on the net are cheaper because they are defective??? And the ones sold at full price at retail stores are brand spanking new with no defects??? Shed some light into this.

Justin: Does it matter if I use Radio Shack quality 16 AWG speaker wire or the Monster Cable 16 AWG proven XP technology with Magnetic Flux Tube? Is there really a difference in quality b/c there sure is a difference in price.

The Klipsch monster cables are not available in Vancouver Canada, but there are other monster cable kits available, but these are just wires without ends. How can I do a "do it yourself" job? Can someone provide me instructions on how to do this? What gauge wires do I need? Where do I get the input jacks? Use the old ones or get new ones? What kind? etc?

Does anyone know which if SB has new drivers for Windows XP? I can't seem to find 4.1 on the drop down list.

I just got a set of these babies. Contrary to what others have been saying, I've had no problems so far. No distortions, static, nor uneven sound balance. They're great. I made sure to get a "brand new, unopened" box at the retail store. I know a lot of these speakers have been repacked or returned and then sold to an unlucky bastard.

Do you guys use your computer software to set bass to mid, treble to high, and main volume to mid? Then you adjust your speakers to have surround sound near max, and bass to about the 2oclock position? What's the best setup?

Justin: I have the soundblaster audigy OEM card. I use the speakers for music and gaming, but occasionally for movies too. Please advise.
