  1. Thank you sir! You've been extremely helpful.
  2. Thanks. I already have one of those Y plugs and I use that with my portable CD player. But what I want to know is - Is Windows Media Player supposed to act that way or is there something wrong with my drivers?
  3. I don't think I'm making myself clear. I am not using a portable CD player. I am playing CD's using an internal CD player in my computer. When using Winamp, I get sound from all 4. When using Windows Media Player, I only get sound from fronts. Why is this? and what's the fix?
  4. When playing CD's I get no sound from rear speakers using Windows Media Player. However I have sound if playing from Winamp or mp3 from hard drive. I made sure that quadrophonic is selected. What's up with that?
  5. The ones on Ebay suck. If you're not buying from an authorized dealer, then chances are you'll end up with a lousy, problematic set. Sometimes it's not worth being cheap over.
  6. Bohemiam Rhapsody, You are smart. You thought of something that most people would not have thought of.
  7. Are your burnt out 4.1's the refurbished version? I've had my brand new non-refurbs for almost 3/4 of a year now and I'm loving it. I just installed the real deal monster cables 2 weeks back and they're great. I notice sound improvement alright!
  8. I don't know why and how but for some reason, the popping noise disappeared.
  9. Can anyone give me a solution? I don't know how long Klipsch will take to get back to me. I've already emailed them.
  10. I've just set up the Monster Cables I purchased from Klipsch. I've made sure the connections are good and that I've cleaned the ends with rubbing alcohol. I get a popping sound from the control pod speaker each time I press the mute button on/off. It sounds very dangerous and I'm afraid that it may blow the speakers if it continues. Anyone with the Monster Cable upgrade experience this? How can I fix it? Thanks, Big Sheesh
  11. Naitman: Email me at bigsheesh@telus.net We'll discuss from there.
  12. naitman: I got 4 brand new gold plated mono plugs. I live in Vancouver, Canada. Email me if you are interested in them. I can ship to you cheap.
  13. OK I have XP set to quadraphonic, and Power DVD set to SPDIF, I get no sound from rears. When I set Power DVD to 2 speakers, I have sound from all 4. But I also have options to choose: A3D/DirectSound3D Dolby Surround Compatible Stereo TruSurroundXT Dolby Headphone Which one do I choose? There's also an advanced button where I can change the settings for the above mentioned 2 speaker mode selections.
  14. OK, I have windows audio setting at quadraphonic and the other software that came with audigy is called Creative if I recall. I don't have that installed. And I don't use it. I have Power DVD Deluxe 4.0 I think. I click on 4 speakers and I only get 2 fronts with sound. Tell me what I should do?
  15. I don't understand your instructions. Please be more clear. Yes I have an Audigy. Select 4 speaker mode in what program? the Windows audio settings or in Power DVD? The only way I can select SPDIF (what is this) is by doing 2 speaker setup in Power DVD.
  16. I have the 4.1's. I have Windows XP configured for Quadrophonic speaker mode. In Audio settings of Power DVD, I have set to 4 speaker mode. When that happens, I get no sound coming from rear speakers. When I set Power DVD to 2 speaker mode. I get sound from all 4's. What's the perfect setup? Also, how do I setup the advanced audio settings in Power DVD?
  17. Recently when watching DVD's I'm hearing a popping sound coming from the speakers. I don't know which one but it's an occasional popping sound. How do I correct this?
  18. Are you Samwise Gamgee? BTW, the monster cables are sweet! I've got a pair myself which I don't use anymore.
  19. The 4.1's are the best computer speakers I've ever heard. I did a lot of research too before commiting to buying a set. I have owned mine for 6 months now and I have no regrets. They're awesome for all purposes. I use them for watching DVD's, playing MP3's, gaming, and most importantly, hearing the *****es moan and grown when watching porn clips!
  20. Where do you normally put your subwoofer and surround sound knobs? I keep my subwoofer knob at the 10 o' clock position and the surround sound knobs at the 12 o' clock positions. I notice if I put the surround sound knob all the way to the max, I get louder sound coming from the rears. What's your experience?
  21. Use Winamp to play MP3. They sound more crisp and clear than using Creative music player. The latter sounds muffled and not crisp at all! Media Player is good too.
  22. Don't be cheap! Don't even think about buying the refurbs. If you want assurance and not having to worry about POS quality, then buy brand new! Come on guys. 99.9% of the messages mostly about complaints, on this forum wouldn't be here if you guys bought had bought brand new 4.1's.
  23. Place the 2 front speakers on each side of your monitor. The sub directly underneath the monitor. The two rear speakers behind you and about the same width apart as the 2 front.
