  1. I just purchased a SVS 25-31 PC+ Sub. L/R Speakers are Infinity Reference 2000.6 Floor Standing Speakers (They sound ok and leads me to my next question.. How much better are the RF3's?) Denon 1803 Receiver driving them. Thanks.
  2. I currently have a KV2 center channel. Would I notice a big difference if I were to updrade to the RC3-ii? TIA
  3. I recently purchased a Denon 1803 receiver. Is there a way to hook up my Yamaha Equalizer 550? If so how? (Or is it even recommended to use an EQ anymore? TIA
  4. These products for cars do work well (eg The Epicenter) I used to have one and it was amazing how you could "create bass" in a song by turning a knob. Not sure about for home audio.
  5. I am looking to buy a new center channel to replace an 8 year old Klipsch center channel that I have. I am also getting a new SVSubwoofer PC+ for christmas. Since I do not need any additional bass, is it necessary to get the RC-7? Is the RC-7 really "twice" as good as the RC-3 since it costs 2x as much? Any input is appreciated. BTW- I use Infinity front speakers. THanks
  6. Bob, Does the $240 Guarantee that the amp will work afterwards? Or does the $240 just pay for you to look at it to determine if it's salvagable. If the amp is not fixable, will I still be charges is what I am trying to say Thanks.
  7. Bob, I talked to the repair dept, and they said there were 0 amps in stock but that I could send it in for $240. But then I talked to the Replacement Parts department also last week and they told me that they had 0 in stock at one of the locations in Arkansas and 48 in stock at the other location in Ark. Price for a new amp was over $500. Honestly, thats what I was told. This message has been edited by Compton on 09-09-2002 at 04:46 PM
  8. I agree. I'm sure not paying $500+ for a new amp. I think I'll get a SVS
  9. http://www.klipsch.com/products/productdetail.asp?id=161&line=Actually, it says the MSRP was $999, but when I bought mine, I think the asking price was way over $1000.. (I paid less than $999 though)
  10. Actually I think it is a 150 Watt amp.. It is the SW-12 and not the KSW-12. (SW-12 is better quality than KSW but not as good as RSW)
  11. It is absolutely true. I called them last week. They only had 48 of them left in stock. $550 is somewhat understandable since the sub retailed for about $1500 back in the mid 90's.
  12. Im in the same boat.. For 1/2 the price though, the SVS look awfully attractive
  13. Thanks for your reply. It was very informative. Also zapped by the lightning strike was my yamaha receiver. I replaced that with a Denon 1802 last week. Now I have to figure out(If its possible at all) how to connect my Yamaha EQ-550 to the Denon. But that's a question for another forum Thanks.
  14. With my SW12 currently serving as nothing more than a paper weight after getting struck by lightning, I have decided to get a new sub. I am leaning towards SVS based on lots of recommendations.. Wife will be pissed if i spend more than $600 on a sub. So my choice is between the PCi and PC + series. 1. Are the PC and PC+ series the best in the $500-$700 price range? 2. WHat size do i need for a 15x15 room with 14 foot ceilings 3. Is the PC+ worth the $200 price difference? Thanks
  15. The replacement cost to buy a new amp from Klipsch is $550! Ugh... I think I'll buy an entire SVS sub for that.
  16. Keith- What do you mean spend a little more? You mean fix what I have? or spend more to purchase a new sub other than Klipsch? Are the KSW's not any good? On first glance, a 800Watt 15" Klipsch does sound like it would be better than a 150Watt SW12.. But I've seen some posts here that say otherwise. I am certain it is the AMP. I had the amp go out about 5 years ago and it was under warranty at the time. But I remember that to replace the amp would have been $500.. ughh Thanks for the reply.
  17. My sub went out after a storm last week (SW12) The LED power light is on, but it seems as though the amp is fried. The main fuse is fine. Is there a 2nd fuse anywhere that I could look at? How much is a new amp for this thing. I'm thinking it better to go ahead and get a KSW12 or KSW15 for $300-$450 new off the Internet.. Any other suggestions for subs in the price range? TIA
