The Hercules Game Theater XP was my top choice because of its sound quality and inputs, but it's no longer being carried by retailers. Is there a card that maintains that quality and has the inputs for around $100?

Holy crap dude, look here at the suggested price http://gear.ign.com/articles/371/371336p1.html Is that justifiable? I mean, geez, that's $250 between the Altec 641's that I can get for $150 @ chumbo.com. I was really excited about the 680's too, but $400!

When/If I get the 641's should I bother finding a center speaker? And 160 people on newegg seem to love the logitech 4.1s that you mentioned. Do you still like the Altec 641's over logitech's? I'll be gaming a lot, and listening to music a lot. Lots of european trance from digitally imported, and lots of new age alternative rock(trust company, finch, epidemic). I can get the 641's at Chumbo.com for $150. I'm also going to get my ATI 8500 there. What's the new verdict?

How are they compared to Klipsch's 4.1's? I'm not sure I want to mess with Klipsch's quality and production issues.

Has anyone here heard them? One of my roommates is sporting their 2.1's, and it's not bad. I can get the 4.1's at NewEgg for $90. Best Buy here has 1 set of 2.1 pro media's but they've already been returned at LEAST once. One of the 5.1 boxes is the same way =( And I don't have the transportation to tolerate returns every 3 months. I'm going to college out in the boonies with nothing but a bicycle. Anyone here got some 1st hand advice for the decision at hand?

I appologize for my use of words. Being a primary factor of good health, I don't take my sleep lightly. Knowing that this was an above average community is what brought me here. I had a sincere problem, and while I love witty humor and laughtor, I didn't appreciate the cheap shot. Ofcourse Chicky can argue that he was being sincere in his reply. But as some of you have revealed, it's simply not the case. Thank you for the rest of your posts. I will definitely pursue the weather stripping option and go from there.

I just moved into a 4 bedroom apartment for college, and lots of noise gets in through my door and walls. Somehow they skimped out on the insulation in my room. What can I do to improve the situation?
