  1. I found the old repair. A resistor and a diode. Both Ohm out O.k
  2. The "brown stuff" seems to be on several of the caps and appears to be brushed on. What caps I can get to will charge and discharge via my DVM. No true cap tester on hand.
  3. After a much closer look, I found it is a model 2-400. The fuse is good. I've got: 109.2 VDC at test points FO3 + FO4 53.1 VDC at test points W3 + W4 Nothing appears to be burned on any board. One capacitor may have leaked? Or is it a assembly glue? I'll pull the board and do a measurement and a closer look.
  4. The Sub-woofer control will not turn on. Such is a unit that is always on.... 2nd time it has happened. Last time a company now out of business fixed it. Anyone here have detailed instructions on how to repair this unit? A decent schematic or flow chart? I really like the bass from this unit If it is toast, which powered unit would you recommend ( used ) to purchase? Thanks for any helpful info. Rob
  5. I'm making replies here with photos and info with nothing being shown as a reply, why?
  6. Ivan (Klipsch Product Support) Sep 8, 2022, 4:29 PM EDT Hi There, I am sorry to say but we are not setup to trouble shoot these systems on a component level. We can recommend reaching out to this repair service or just replace the system. Global Battery Solutions 581 Ottawa Ave. STE 100 Holland, MI 49423 (616) 392-6911 ************************************** Pretty much told me to take a hike...... Real service is a thing of the past. If anyone here would like to help me get this going again it will be appreciated.
  7. P/N 09050281210 Spares P/N 143914-001 I found the green LED out. Opened up the sub-woofer speaker and found the 5 amp fuse was open, not blown ( burned ,etc). I replaced the fuse with same type and the system will not turn on. The fuse holder looks as if it may have gotten hot, and I re-soldered the two end holders. No go. I really like this system and the bass sounds it puts out and would like to get it working again. I'm retired and would hate to have to buy a new system to replace this one. Please help with troubleshooting info. Thank you.
