  1. Perhaps I haven't been exposed to many amps that are more impressive at that price range (coming from an only-home-theatre-amp background). My home theatre amp is class AB 165 watts a channel, and is great for movies, however the Powernode sounded like it was warmer which is why I like using it as a 2-ch music amp When you say "sterile", would that be like saying dull / lifeless / boring / too-much-tweeter / not-much-punch? If so, perhaps I need to look at other amplifiers in the $1000-1500 price range. If you have any suggestions on a pairing with the RF7 iii for me to start with I'm all ears. If I'm that happy with the Powernode, can't wait to see what's next and how much better it gets (on a budget). Also loved your videos on the RF7's on your YT channel. Big fan! [Yeah turns out the dealer is clearing their stock as they're downsizing their business and reducing their product lines, lucky "clearance sale" I guess]
  2. Update, I managed to pick up the RF7 III's for a great price in cherry. Something tells me that there must be a RF7 IV coming out pretty soon, which is why I managed to snag these at such a bargain price. Will let y'all know when it's arrived and hooked up to the Powernode at 80 watts a channel...lets see if my tiny amp can hold its own against these beasts.
  3. Thanks for the replies. I've decided to go with the Polk R700 (also quite a big floorstander), and keep saving up / shopping for a good deal on a Klipsch Heritage product. The RF 7 III's are still double the price of the R700 and if I don't have the power to drive them right now, it would probably be wasted on me..... soon though
  4. Hi all, Has anyone tried to pair the Bluesound Powernode N330 amplifier with the RF 7 III's? Have the results been disastrous? Or better than expected? I've clicked through a few threads in the forum, and my understanding is that the RF 7 III's shine with lots of watts... I think nearly everyone has concluded that. For context, I currently have a Bluesound Powernode (80 watts per channel at 8 ohms) paired to Polk R500's and for me, I love the sound. If anyone cares to speculate on the results of pairing the RF7 III's with the Powernode please do. As I intend on keeping the Powernode for a couple years (just bought it last month) and there is a no-return policy on the RF 7' III's. Blind purchase really.... Cheers any advice would be appreciated.
