My current receiver, Onkyo TX-NR696 is starting to act up, ( shut off by itself, automatically going to menu items and then shutting down). I took the remote out of the equation just in case it was something with that. Being it's Christmas time I only have around a $700 budget. The Onkyo is less than a year old so I'm not looking for another of the same brand. Because it's still under warranty I'm going to send it out for repair, and then I'll keep it as a spare or sell it. Any insight or recommendations greatly appreciated. Room Size is 14x20. Listening position about 10ft from front Stage. Current Speaker Setup: All Klipsch: Front L/R RP-600mii Center RP-504cii Sub RP-121sw Surround RP-402s Recievers I'm Considering, both Same Price Denon AVR-X2700H Yamaha Aventage RXA2A Or any other recomendations under $800 with ability to go 7.2

I know this might not seem a huge upgrade to some, but for me it was. I upgraded from RP-500c center channel to RP-504cII. Front L/R I went from RP-500m to RP-600mII. Got it all setup, ran Audyssey, then manual distance, levels, and crossovers. I tested some scenes with surround and dialogue. I then played some music. I'm extremely satisfied with how it all sounds. Dialogue is crystal clear while there's a lot of sound effects going on. I streamed Chris Cornell from Audioslave singing Nothing compares to you unplugged and it sounded amazing. Next up, another sub and blu ray player.

After much research I just ordered RP-504cii from Crutchfield. Deciding now if I should save for identical sub woofer that I have, or replace front left and right. This is just like owning a Harley and Jeep, (I have both), just keep spending and upgrading. Keeps me out of trouble though.

I was also wondering if I could add the R-120sw to my existing r-121sw because right now it's $300 cheaper than my 121, or should I just wait and buy another 121?

So upgrade center, add another sub and stick with 500m for front left and right for now? I’m trying for a more immersive experience and just wasn’t sure if the small bookshelf’s are cutting it.

Hey all new to the community and Home Theater. Current setup is Onkyo AVR, front speakers Klipsch RP-500m, RP-500C, Rear surround RP-402s, and Sub SW121. I’m thinking of buying either the RP-600mii or floor standing RP-5000fii to replace the 500m bookshelf’s, (leaning toward the floor speakers) I was curious if the 500m would be better for the rear surrounds over the current 402s. Really don’t have room logistics for side speakers too. Going to upgrade center in a couple weeks too. . Any input would be greatly appreciated.
