  1. My auction for the RF-7 Speakers ends tomorrow on EBAY at 900am eastern. So far the high bid is 999.00 so someone is going to get these at a very good price. They are only 2 months old and in like new condition, hardly used.
  2. Yes, they are the Cherry finish. I am selling them because I decided to go to another speaker. They sound great with Conrad Johnson gear. Drop me an email and we can discuss further. Thanks.
  3. This is the link if anyone is interested, and I can be reached by email at pettyfeversk@aol.com. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1943785934
  4. They were bought from an authorized dealer and I paid 1950.00 for them. They are less than 2 months old. I would assume the buyer would have the warranty as these are essentially new speakers.
  5. Dean, I just decided to go in another diection with a different brand of speaker. I have conrad johnson gear and the speakers have basically not even been broken in yet. They are that unused. Someone is going to get a great deal on these.
  6. If anyone is interested, I listed my Klipsch RF-7 speakers on ebay. They are listed for 999.00 if they are picked up locally or can be shipped for 200.00 on top of the high bid. I had made a post on this forum earlier, they are less than 2 months old and in like new condition with the cherry finish. Stephen
  7. The RF-7 speakers are available for $1199.00 and are in like new condition. I have had them less than 2 months.
  8. I am in Massachusetts near the southern NH border.Contact me by eamil to discuss price and pickup. Thanks
  9. Klipsch RF-7 Speakers are like new 2 months old. Going to a different speaker. Would prefer to have them picked up vs shipped. Contact Stephen at pettyfeversk@aol.com if interested. thanks
  10. Thanks to all for the advice. I plan on listening to many more amplifiers!
  11. To: Mobile Homeless I had the same Adcom GFA 555 for over 15 years and have not had the opportunity to hear other amps with my system other than Adcom and B& K. I have listened to friends systems with various other amplifiers along the way. To answer your question, I am looking for an amp that delivers a smoothness in sound that allows your to listen for long periods without feeling the harshness or fatigue that you get with the Adcom. There is a hardness to the Adcom sound. When I have heard pleasing sounding systems in my friends homes, the amps produced a quality soundstage that was easy to listen to and also lifelike in terms of depth and clarity. That is the best way I can describe it . I dont claim to be an audiophile. I just possess very good hearing and can discern different sonic quality. I know the Adcom is a poor match for my speakers.
  12. Well, I hooked up my R-7 speakers to the B & K Reference 2220 and to be honest, I was disapointed with the amp. I had the Adcom GFA 555 and had thought that the Reference B& K was going to be wonderful in comparison. Well, it was better in certain ways(smoother), but I am still not satisfied with the sound from it and am going to go in another direction.
  13. I learn more and more as I read the responses from different folks about different types of amplifiers. I have read a lot of good things about the quality of sound given from tube amps as well as the benefits of the solid state products. What about a company like Conrad Johnson which makes amplifiers that have some of the qualities of tube amps but makes them in the solid state format. They make a 2250 Amplifier that might be the best of both worlds. Does anyone have this amplifier or have heard it with the RF-7 speakers.
  14. There are so many possibilities, it can get confusing. I guess I thought The Adcom Pre Amp GFP 555 was supposed to have been a pretty decent pre-amp but posters are making it sound that if i combine the new B&K 2220 amp with my existing Adcom pre amp, the pre amp will neutralize the benefits of the new amp. I dont like those new preamp tuners. I dont even need a tuner as I never listen to the radio. Maybe I should consider a different brand of pre amp. Any other thoughts on my pre-amp by anyone else. I keep forgetting how old the thing is but I love the simplicity of its operation. I had hoped to avoid buying another pre-amp.
  15. Dean, I can get a good deal on the B&K 2220. Its a two channel set up, I dont have any subs. I cant afford to get both the B&K amp and the preamp now. I am leaning toward the amp based on what you and others have stated related to upgrading the sound.
