  1. You should be able to get one for under $300.
  2. Check ubid.com for new units for sale. There have been several selling for just under $300.
  3. You need to give a little more info so people can try to answer your question better. Otherwise, you will get the answer of another set of Forte's. Are you looking for monopole, bipole or dipole? Can you use a full speaker or do you need something smaller?
  4. That depends on what kind of player you buy. If you buy a $200 DVD player you probably have a CD player that is comparable to a $100 unit. If you buy a $1000 DVD player, it should be much better but not as good as a $1000 CD player. I have a nice Marantz special edition player that I use for music, because my DVD player is a cheap unit. None of this takes into effect DVD audio and SACD's
  5. Those of you looking for these centers check out u-bid, there back!!! My friend just got one.
  6. thanks, I just got home with the set. I will audition them for a few days but then I might attach some brackets to them so that I can mount off the ceiling.
  7. Thanks, seams like you went done the same road that I am going now. How did you mount the rear speakers? I see no holes on the back for mounting or did you use a shelf? Are you using the speakers behind or to the side of the listening area?
  8. I am currently living in a townhouse that has a finished basement where my home theater is set-up. I have forte II's and a C-7 for the center which I am pretty happy with even with the timbre differences. Now I need surround speakers. I want monopole and I cannot fit full size speakers, so forget about another set of forte's. I actually will need to suspend the speaker from the ceiling. I know that the reference is a better speaker but will it sound just as off as the synegery model? Would it be worth the extra money? I will probably being moving in another three years and I can then re-think my surround set-up but I need something for now. My home theater is used for 90% movies and 10% music. I do have DVD-audio capabilities but have yet to out and actually get any DVD's to listen to...
