Well, I guess the joke was on me. I'm too new to this to be pissed and too old to be amused. I'll look for serious help elsewhere.

The advice sounds credible, but might as well be in Japanese. Is the BIOS revision 1.07A a chip I can buy and replace/have replaced in the receiver? Is the SVS/Sunfire patch something for the receiver? Would a Stereo repair shop know this? I really appreciate the help. I have a small computer repair bench set up, so I'm not afraid to try something new, just hesitant to start without an understanding of what I will be accomplishing.

I am not an audiophile. I know + from -, red from black and on from off. Trying to setup my Sony DE885 with Klipsch speakers. Doing great until the KSW-10 Subwoofer. Why so much to know? My receiver Pre-Out to LFE Left had no sound. $40 later and a "special" Monster subwoofer cable still got nothing. Looked on the forum and saw mention of a Sony Compatability problem. Do I need to hook up the speaker connections instead of the LFE?
