How do you have it hooked up? Definitive in front running through fronts to rec.???? What does that mean? Your description says you are using a KG4.2 for Cen. Back, but I suspect you are using 2 of them, but am not familiar with either them or the KM-5's so am not sure why you would want to switch them or why that would give you more control over the Bass. I would run the Def Tech through the LFE, and the SP-1's speaker level, you will still be able to control the level of the subs even if you use speaker wire. Of course this is only one way to do it, and I really don't understand what you had in mind from your description, but I've heard the Def Tech and I think it is a better sub than even two of the SP-1's. Hope this helps. With all that equipment, you don't seem like much of a newbie, especially since you can't even go out and buy most of that stuff anymore. And most "newbies" don't know what a laserdisc player is, much less own one.

My system consist of:
Dennon 3801 Receiver,Definitive 15 sub,Nakamichi RX200 Tape Recorder, JVC-XVS 502 DVD, Panasonic Hi-Fi VCR, Phillips CDR-800, 4DTV Sat. Receiver, Pioneer CLD-59(Elite),Sony 200 CD Player, Pioneer 100 CD Player
Speakers (ALL KLIPSCH)
Center: KSFC-5, Front: SP-1, Side Surround: SS1,
Back:KM-6, Center Back:KG4.2 one pair. SP-1 are hooke up to LFE on the receiver. The definitive run to KM-6 for my rear sub. Is this a good way to go? or is there a better way. I'm not running the definitve to the LFE because when I do I get a hum so I run it through the lowpass, directly to the speakers.
