  1. They are 8ohm Rf7s, rc7.... I haven't had it shut off yet but I was wondering if my speakers where trying to get more power than it can handle, but I see that most likely won't happen. But wow is -5 loud. I'll never go that loud to often, was just wonder how loud before my family gets pissed. My ears are still ringing. And the receiver is in a spot where it should never over heat.
  2. What does the protector circuit do? I'm just wondering, on my last post I said I brought the receiver upto -5 but I most likely won't do that again. I'm guessing that the circuit protects the receiver from heat and from outputing more watts than it can handle, I could be wrong. Thanks for the replies in advance.
  3. Dumb me. Is their a way to measure how many watts are being put through the receiver to the speakers?
  4. Ok I way lying I only brought it to on -5 for one song, it was an mp3 that was recorded at a low volume since at -5 it was only 102db. I got an spl meter from my local rat shack, on my normal stuff it was about 100db at -15 and 109db at -10 all taken from 3 feet away. My normal is -20, it's about 96db. The ht is in the basement and is at a constant 65*F, the receiver has all the room it wants. It sits on a platform with nothing around it. I'm thinking about a rotel amp the 1090 for the fronts and rears, but what amp could I get for the center since rotel doesn't sell mono blocks....?
  5. I'm running 2 RF7's and a rc7 with an Denon 3803, and I usually put the volume around -5 for long periods of time. Do you people think that the receiver can take this? I don't have an spl meter to check. And I'm most of the time not in the room when it's this loud, the room is 9.5x13.5x7.5 with 3 walls. The open part goes into the rest of the house. I can say being in the room with the volume at -5 is nuts I'm just worried that I might be damaging the speakers or the receiver. I'm a little worried about my center but if it can handle it I'm pretty sure the rf7's can. I'll be adding another pair of rf7's and rs7's later, and planing on the pb2+ as the sub.
  6. I'll see what I can do to drop the price a bit more, but I don't think he'll do it. The only part I'm sad about is I have to wait til sat/sun to pick them up, they didn't have them there. Not a problem since they're only about 3 miles away. And I got black since they match with just about anything. I'll probably get WDST's as well, but I do about 90% music 10% movies. You want to know something. I asked my friends about the speakers, and they didn't even know what klipsch was. But then again they said is it as good as bose, I just about broke out laughing.
  7. Well I had a change in plans, I went to my local brick and mortar. And ask the dealer I was working with if I could return all the speakers to get 7's, and he said sure. Do you think these prices are good? RC7 $550.00, RF7 $750.00 each. And I'm going to get 6 RF7's... I don't beleave in overkill
  8. I got RC3II, RF5's as fronts, and RF3II's as surrounds for my 7 channel setup. Do you think this was a wise idea?
  9. What kind of sub should I get? I have a denon 3803, Fronts RF3II, Rear RF3II, Center RC3II, Rear Center RF3II. My budgets is enough to get dual svs ultras or lower.
  10. The bass is their but it isn't as chest pounding as it would be with a sub.
  11. I got my new speaker system today.. four RF3II, one RC3II, and a Denon 3803. Time to break them in. Oh the dealer gave me them at $300 per speaker.
  12. I'm trying to make a decision between the two but, I have no experience in audio so some help please.
  13. Yea I would like those colors too. Well it looks like this now DENON AVR-3803 or Pioneer Elite VSX-45TX KLIPSCH RF3-II Front KLIPSCH RC-3II Center KLIPSCH RF3-II Rear Sub: Dual CS-Ultra Subwoofers... eh half inch taller than RF3IIs. Sould I use their amp, or is that not enough power? The MCCAC is interesting, I'm not an audio techy so I won't know how to make these sound good. And the MCCAC does it for me. As for the warranty, I could just pay the extra price at the local dealer. But then it'll cost more than the Denon 3803. My parents do have an Pioneer VSX-D510, I mean it's no Denon 3803 or Elite 45TX. But it has a 100x5 for 8ohms.
  14. Yea I got a chance to listen to the RF5 with RC3II and the 3803 or 3802. They didn't have RF3II's, their reason was, it only came in black. RF5 is better it comes in three colors, eh. Well I'm going back to see if they have the Elite VSX45-TX their and give them a try.
  15. I'm going with this I think DENON AVR-3803 KLIPSCH RF3-II Front KLIPSCH RC-3II Center KLIPSCH RF3-II Rear If I choose to take an rc7 as center is that a good idea? Or would that be a bad timbre match?
  16. I think I'm going to take out the Klipsch RS3II Surrounds and get Klipsch RF-3II Tower Speakers for the rear. I'll just buy reciever the mains and center, then the rears and maybe an amp too. I don't think I'll need a sub for a while, but I'm thinking SVS. I can live with 3.1 audio for a while, it'll be easier on my parents since it won't be a massive lump sum when I buy them. Is having RF3II towers for both front and back good? Would the RC7 match well with the RF3IIs? I heard they have the same drivers but diff tweeter...
  17. I could go with an Pioneer Elite VSX-45TX Receiver or Denon AVR 3803 AV Receiver or Model 1050 6.1-channel Digital A/V Receiver, and slap on an amp later. I'll have about 1k+ for other things like a sub. Well now it's down to 3 recievers. I don't know if the VSX-45TX has pre-outs but how much is the gain by having MCCAC.
  18. Looks like I'll have to do some more searching, well I have a month. Elite VSX45-TX M.S.R.P. $1,400 but at http://www.acousticsounddesign.com it's Pioneer Elite VSX-45TX Receiver $889.00 I could save and go Pioneer Elite VSX-47TX A/V Receiver for $1,749.00 from the same place, 130x7 at 8ohms is good right? What would happen if I turn this upto max? would I run a risk of blowing out the speakers, or the reciever? Now I wouldn't have it this loud but I'm just asking what bad things might happen. Eh I guess I'm starting to lean towards the Pioneer Elite VSX-47TX A/V Receiver unless I find something better you have any ideas? But this is as high as I'll go since this speakers don't need much more... I think I have originally stated a 2k budget which I'm well over now but no worries, all together $3,016.00!! with the Pioneer Elite VSX-47TX A/V Receiver that means I'll have to wait a little bit more. I'll make room for speaker wire, no sense in getting great stuff with cheap wire. What kind of warranty should I get 1,3,5 years? I should have everything buy March minus the sub. how does your Elite VSX45-TX sound compared to the denon 3300?
  19. I've returned my pm 5.1s full refund. 7-14days till return check comes, I'll be able to get everything minus the sub. For the sub I want to rock the house, I was thinking SVS. I went to Audio King, they had Denon 3803 with RF5, RC3, RS3. I listened to them, I think I'll be happy. I think I'll go with: Klipsch RF-3II Tower Speakers Klipsch RC3II Center Speaker Klipsch RS3II Surrounds Denon AVR 3803 AV Receiver It would be a very long time till I even think of upgrading after the sub, starting Colloge this fall. That receiver has enough power to satisfy my urge for loudness for the time being. Now only if my audigy had an optical out, I'll have to use a digital 1/8 to rca I guess. What kind of speaker wire will I need? I'll get pics of my room after I get 'em, I'll make room for these. If I have to I'll sleep on the floor. My room dimensions are 12'4" across to 11'5" deep
  20. I listen to music as much as I listen to 5.1 audio, and all my music is usually in mp3 so I most likely won't hear the diff.
  21. Guess I'll stick with the 2802 till I get some cash
  22. After reading all the other posts I guess this is what I'll do.. I'll post again when I get the system, in the HT forum of course, it will be around a month till I get it. I was thinking of getting the Denon AVR 3803 AV Receiver, or should I wait till I can get a better one. Or get an amp?
  23. Klipsch RB5.II Bookshelf Loudspeaker Klipsch RC3II Center Speaker Klipsch RS3II Surrounds Denon AVR 2802 AV Receiver $1,797.00 or Klipsch RF-3II Tower Speakers Klipsch RC3II Center Speaker Klipsch RS3II Surrounds Denon AVR 2802 AV Receiver $1,817.00 I can add an rsw sub later Now I'll be hooking this bad boy upto my computer till I get a home theater later. I have an Audigy Sound Card and my comp also has an optical out. My budget before sub is about 2k, for the sub I'll wait a little to get a good one.
