i did get a friend of mine's toshiba dvd player to do dolby digital with it and now i got my dxr3 to do digital with it but i dont understand why my audigy or my playstation will not

i just resently aquierd the digital dream system and i primaraly want to run it on my computer system but i have not been able to get anything more than pcm out of my audigy wether it is conected through RCA, Toslink, or RCA to mini plug. so i desided to try and hoke the DD-5.1 to my Playstation 2(optical is on) with a toslink cable. i tryed 2 movies(lord of the rings, and fast and the furious in dolby as well as dts) so far and still have not got anything besides PCM sound. it seems the only way i can get my Promidia 5.1's to do 5.1 is through my audigy's analog ports. i would apriciate you thoughts.....

probly because there is so many ways that you can hook the DD-5.1 to a sound card or a gaming system or a entertainment center. curently i can hook my DD-5.1 up 3 diffrent ways and there all digital to my audigy sound card. if they were to include a fiber cable it would raise the price by about 30$ and not everyone can use the optical.
