  1. I thought of that to. If I turned the top pair upside down, the imaging may be better. However, the more I looked at it, the top pair are about 6 feet off the ground. For the most part, the top pair are just fill for when I really want to turn them up. All the imaging comes from the bottom pair of Heresyes. It acts kind of like front and rear speakers in a car. You really don't notice the rear pair until you listen for them. This is the same thing. I never did try and reverse the top pair, and now that they are a permanent part of the wall, we'll never know what the difference is. At any rate,..hope this helps clear it up for you guys. Take care!
  2. Now you can see the whole picture. As for the he Nintendo inquiery, yes it is. There's also the original Colecovision and Atari, and in the curio is a plethera of old Coleco handheld games, and earlier battery powered games. As for the sound of the system, it's hard to describe. Depending on my mood, I can turn it to "11" and it gets almost intollerably loud, and clear for that matter. It took me awhile to dial it in with the hard wood floors and the horns on the Heresys. I hate to say it, but I had to add an eq to balance it out. At low levels, the sound is amazing. And the Cornwalls in the kitchen? Well,..if you could do it,..wouldn't you? Thanx again for all the feedback. It's good to know I'm not the only one who thought this was a good idea. It took the `ol lady awhile to warm up to it,..but after I had cut up the walls, she knew they were going in, so she gave up. Any more questions, please feel free to ask. Take care!
  3. Thanx again for the input guys. There's been a few questions asked about my gameroom, so I figured I'd put the whole shot in. My camera kinda sucks, but this is the best I can get. I'll add the other photo in the next post.
  4. Thanx for the compliments guys. Here's one more photo with the doors open to the stereo cabinet. Never mind what I have written for components. I did that a year ago. I have to update it. I'm running a Nakamichi PA-7 for each pair of Heresys, plus I have a pair of Cornwalls in the kitchen that are run off a pair of Nakamichi PA-5's. My components are all Nakamichi minus a Carver pre amp and the Velodyne subs. Another cool thing I did was put all the components on a remote control power strip. Actually, it was 2 power strips becasue I needed 2 20 amp circuits to power this thing. The power strips are remote controlled so I can turn the entire system, 10 components, on and off with one button. Thanx for looking,..it was a fun project!
  5. I put 4 Heresys in the wall. I framed the wall so half the speaker is in fornt, and half sticking out the back, which is the garage. For the die hards, these were old and beat up cabinets picked specifically for this project, and all working drivers were installed from good Heresys. Then I drywalled around them and made a steel trim ring to fit over the drywall and speaker. Since the loss of bass was going to be an issue, I added 2 Velodyne ULD-15 subs under the pool table and under the foosball table, which you can't see in the pic. All the audio gear is mounted flush in the wall also. There's 2 doors that open and when closed, they match the paint scheme and can't be seen as well. The backside of the audio gear is a small closet in the garage, so I have access to the rear. There's also a fan mounted in the rear and pulls air through over the amps to keep everything cool. Just wanted to show what can be done in a limited space application, but still keep the big Klipsch boxes and more importantly, great sound! the
  6. Very Cool HWATKINS! I like that. I did something similiar with a pair of Tangent 300's some years ago. It looks real nice too. I'll post some pics when I get the Heresys stuck in the wall. May take a little time though... Take care. Mark
  7. Yes,..I can't have the Cornwalls in that room. They are too big, and it's hard to shoot pool around them without hitting them w/ the cue. That why I originally had all in wall speakers, and am planning to do the same with the Heresys. I want 2 more subs only because I have room under the foosball table for 2. I'd like to face them in opposing directions and give it a try. If I get any bass cancellation due to one too many subwoofers, I'll just use it in a adiff. room, or sell it. But I'd like to hear what they all sound like together.
  8. OH YEAH FINI!!...those babies are golden. You'll have to pry them from my cold dead fingers!
  9. HOBBIT,..thanx for the input on the Heresys. Actually I've never heard them before, but I know the components,..and that's good enough for me. I realize I will lose much of the bass response by doing this, but I'm running out of options. I have a Velodyne ULD-15 now, and plan on getting 2 more Velodyne 12's for the same room. The bass (when I'm done, shouldn't be an issue). Hopefully it all works out. It's hard to find a balance between "fine, easy listening" and "Wow I'm drunk,..where's the volume knob?" Meaning,.I sure like to spin the knob from time to time, and the Klipsch's sound nice at that volume to me. So,..where does it end? FINI..I had thought about selling them on ebay, but I may end up using them in the bedroom. My house is under what I call "perma-struction": it's never ending, and always changing. So they may find a home in a strange place someday. They don't sell them anymore,..so that's another reason. If you are looking for inwalls though,..I can vouch for the 250's. They do sound nice. And also, I ran them for 2 years with 250 Carver watts going through each one of the 4 I had on the wall. They never blinked an eye, and sound as good as new! I've seen them on ebay from time to time. One set went for $70,..and I missed it! That's it for now,...take `er easy!
  10. About 10 years or so ago, I was demo-ing an old house. In the front room, all beat to hell from vandals, and the elements (roof was shot on the house), was a huge speaker. I've recently learned this was an old Jensen Imperial. All this time I thought it was a Khorn. This type B xover was in it, as was the horn. These were the only 2 salvageable parts. If I knew then what I know now, I would have taken that old beat up cabinet. I'm willing to bet someone is looking for that also. At any rate,..isn't that weird? A Klipsch xover in a Jensen speaker? The research was alot of fun, finding what that speaker was. I kind of new it wasn't a Khorn, because the horn was a Jensen. With the advent of the internet, research was not only easy, but pretty enlightning. Anyway,..these both work excellently. I had them running in the basement (i know, don't say it) for all this time in between the 2 Klipsch Tangents I have hanging from the ceiling. It was a nice center stage. I decided to pull it down recently and figure out what it was. So there it is. I was going to put this stuff on ebay, but it belongs in this forum first. If someone out there needs one or both of these, let me know/ We can work something out. I have no idea what they are worth, so don't pull the wool over my eyes if they are worth something. Judging by the way things sell on ebay, I have an idea, and it's not a whole lot. Hopefully, someone deperatly needs that horn to complete a restored Imperial. The cover is beat up a little, but it sounds great! Well that's it for now. Anyone who wants to jump in and add to this,..I'm all ears! Take care.... Mark
  11. Let me quick post this, and then reply with the other pic,..then I'll explain.
  12. Well, I have to admit, I've made only a couple posts or so in this forum, and it saved me alot of money and time already! My original "InWall Cornwall" idea turned out to a bust in my application. HOWEVER,..while pushing the physical limits of my brain looking to make the Corns work, a novel idea came upon me that made me step back and rethink my position. And the answer is Heresys. Believe it or not, the IW250's that I had in the wall (the 4 holes in the picture) are damn close to the same size as the Heresys. I didn't know they were so small. I know most of you guys in this forum are dead set on the Heritage line, but as far as in wall speakers go, those little IW250's kicked some rear end! But in the never ending search for the elusive "bigger and better" (that's why wer're all here right?), I've decided to pluck out the in walls. I think I have a line on a couple pair of Heresys that will, with a little framing and building on the back side of that wall, fit right into the same spot the in walls were. It will work!! But alas,..now I don't have enough power! Need to start looking for another PA-7,.then I need to make more space for that, as my component rack is stuffed full like a burrito! Well,..to all who care, I'll keep this project posted as it moves along. HDBR, thanx for making me rethink my ways! Take `er easy all!
  13. I give up. I think HADBR was right, and the answer to this is try something different. I still would like to have given it a shot and heard the results, but who has time for that?!
  14. OOOOPS,..I posted twice! And now 3x.....sorry, new guy and slow computer thing.
  15. Well, i'm glad I didn't decide to start cutting drywall then. There must be a way to do this. I realize it's asking alot to try and plug in different parameters and keep plugging away at a box program until it works. I was hoping someone else had tried there hand it, and I could ride on someone elses shoulders in this capacity. What to do now? HDBRbuilder,....I appreciate your expertise in this field, thanx for responding. Let me ask you something. What size do you "think" would be optimal if the K-33 were to be put in its own enclosure? To be done right, am I really looking at stuffing the whole Cornwall,..in the wall? Like eating a McD's cheesburger in one bite (I've sen it done)! I haven't given up on the idea yet,..but I'm getting closer to doing just that, as no one has stepped up and said they did it and it worked. Another great idea getting shot down in flames,..like my roof mounted solar swimming pool heater idea! Alas! Any input on this would be awesome. HDBRbuilder,..Love to hear from you again on this. Surely someone must have tried something like this........Anyone? Thanx again in advance...got to go back to work for a while Mark
