  1. I've got a set of KG2 speakers and lately they're causing my receiver/amplifier to shut off. One of them periodically cuts out. The receiver works fine through the headphones, and the problem happens on more than one receiver, so I know it's a problem with the speaker - not the receiver. I've also ruled out the speaker wire because other speakers work fine through it. Someone suggested there might be a short in one of the speakers, creating an overload in the amp and causing it to shut off. Is there any way to test the speaker for this with a voltmeter? Is this an inexpensive fix?
