  1. Thanks for the response. I used to use the RS 3II's in my old home theater but have recently moved and am constructing a new one. I should update my profile My current configuration will have a bar (tavern) right behind the centeral listening station and the side walls are too far from the centeral listening station to use the RS 3 II's so I sold them am going in ceiling. If you think positioning is key, how should they be positioned? I am a couch sitter. I will be using a standard 7 foot-ish couch as the centeral listening station. where should the speakers be positioned according to this?
  2. I am installing in my ceiling 2 Klipsch CDT 5800-CII's for my rear surround. Questions, have you heard these? Will I be happy? I have a RF3-II system, are these the right choice? Thank you
  3. I previously had my RS-3II's on custom built stands at ear level but am finishing my basement and will install on a wall. Behind the speaker though is a 2" x 6" board which will provide amazing support but.....how do I get the speaker wire into my speakers without having the speaker not be flush with the wall? Does this make sense? I like to use banana clips. To me it looks like the speaker input is flush with the back of the speaker. Thank you for your responses.
  4. Hello All, I have been kicking around the idea of installing 7 speakers in the ceiling of my basement home theater room 3 in front of the listening area, 2 in middle and 2 in back. I would have a decent sub to supplement these. The area is a family movie / sports on TV watching area. Before answering the questions below, what are your initial thoughts? Questions: 1. Have you heard the Klipsch R-2650-SC speakers, if so what is your opinion? 2. Do you have any recommendations on speaker choices? 3. Along with a good sub, would 7 in-ceiling speakers around the $160 range (per) make my n_ts tingle more or less then my current RF-3 set-up? Thank you
  5. I did some research and can get this unit for $700ish, my current receiver is almost 15 years old and it's time. My system is listed below and I use it only for movies. The klipsch forum has given me outstanding advice in the past and I thought I would ask before I made the purchase. Thank you

The same store also carries Anthem, would I be better served buying a comperable ($1,000) priced Anthem as oppossed to an Integra?

    Integra

Hello All, I visited my local higher end electronics store today and the salesman tried to sell me an Integra (Onkyo line) reciever with all the bells and whistles. I can't remember the model number, but it was some where in the 900-1,000 price range. It sounded damn good in store powering some B&W speakers with a lower price tag. My questions for you are what is your opinion of Integra? Does it pair well with my Klipsch speakers. Would I be better served looking elsewhere? Thanks
  8. Great stuff guys, This Whalen looks good, I like that it has the 3 in 1 option, has a little "wood" look to it and love that it's 52" wide, 4 inches wider than my TV. I think a stand should be wider than the TV I also love the Bello TPC-2128, I think I like the look of this one a little better and the dimensions are exactly the same. Now it's time to see where I can get these from and close the deal. Unless there is a last minute post that changes my mind. I'll post pictures when I get my stand set-up. Thanks again
  9. Hello All, I am in the market for a new piece of home theater furniture. It must hold my 50" plasma and have room on a top shelf (to put it at ear level while sitting) for my center channel. Any thoughts on the 3 in 1 models where there is a vertical extension that holds the TV? Could you suggest a brand, store, or model that would fit my needs? Thank you
  10. Sorry to interupt a thread but.... I am in the market for a home theater stand and noticed yours (Ironsave). I think it's the one I am looking at purchasing. Is it a Bello? I know the following isn't the right finish but is it it? What are your thought/opinions about it? I see you have a 52" and I have a 50", I would use the extension like you, but to me I have questions about sucha big TV on it despite its weight rating. Is it solid? Please e-mail chad_vh@yahoo.com or ragingalcoholics@yahoo.com Thank you http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Bell'O+-+TV+Stand+with+Swivel+Mount+for+Flat-Panel+TVs+Up+to+52%22/9245195.p?id=1218066768930&skuId=9245195&st=bello&cp=1&lp=1
  11. Agreed, Except for taxes.
  12. Thanks for the thoughts. I see your from Mad-town, De Pere here. Good to see Wisconsin represented.
  13. Hello All, My local Craigs list is advertising a pair of KG-4's and a pair of KG-1's for sale, the asking price is $400. I am not familiar with these, I see them in the profiles of some posters from time to time though. Could someone enlighten me about these speakers, what years were they made, speaker construction, stats, sound quality, how they compare to my RF-3II's and is $400 a good price. Thank you for your response

  15. Okay, I'm not looking to start a cage match but I would like some opinions. I am a simple man looking for a system that will make my _ _ _ _ tingle! Taking the advice I received from another Klipsch Forum member I am turning my research from a new receiver to separates. This is my first step in my research, to get the opinion of Klipsch fans. Can I make my desires come true for under $1,000? If so what should I expect out of the system and what system would you buy? Thank you
  16. Interesting, I would like to be able to do an in home compairison. Almost 10 years ago when I purchased my 3II's I listened to all three models (7,5,3). I obviously thought the 7's were by far the best but out of my price range. Next I thought the 3's sounded the best.
  17. Interesting, I would like to be able to do an in home compairison myself. I remember when i bought my 3II's (almost 10 years ago) when I listened to the 3 models (7, 5, 3) in the store, I obviously thought the 7's were by far the best but they were way out of my price range. i could have coughed up enough money for the 5's but back when I made the purchase I thought the 3's sounded better.
  18. I don't have my heart set on a Denon, it's just the direction I am/was/am/was...leaning. I had an Onkyo and have a Yamaha. Both of those were bought on a high school and college budget respectively so maybe I'm not doing them justice. The models I had were just average. I like to borrow a line from a previous poster....I am looking to spend as little as I can but I MUST be getting an "Oh WOW" experience. How much $$$$ is this? Only time will tell.
  19. Please elaborate on emotiva a little bit. Is their gear only available on their site or do they have local retailers? Other than your opinion, what is the opinion of others on emotiva? Like I said, I'm out of the loop and have never heard of them. I however, have heard of parasound and outlaw. How do they compare and would a guy be happy rolling with them? Thanks again
  20. Thanks all for the help, it is much appreicated. The capability of the new receivers is amazing. I'm still researching and will make a decision soon. I don't need many of the "extra" features. I'm just looking for dynamic, clean, separated sound. Something that will make my ______ tingle :-)
  21. Hello All I've neglected my audio too long (10+ years) and in that time I've lost touch with the latest and greatest. I am going to upgrade my receiver with a Denon. A quick search on Denon's site led me to a few models. I want to spend under a $1,000. I would love to spend closer to $500 but could easily be convinced to spend closer to a grand if I am getting my money's worth. Here are the models I saw, please comment on them and which one I should get. My system is used for home theater, movie watching. Thank you AVR-791 = $499 AVR-891 = $799 AVR-1911 = $599 AVR-2311CI = $899
  22. Hello All I bought my daughter Toy Story 3 on Blu-ray and noticed there was an "extra" that walked you through Audio and Video set-up to optimize your viewing and listening experience. What are your opinions on this, have you tried it, is it an accurate set-up and should I do it? Thanks
  23. I had no idea there was such a thing, can you give me some information about Avia II and how it works?
  24. I just purchased a Sammy 50" Plasma (I'm pumped)! What information/help can you give me in regards to picture set-up? Is there a rhyme and reason, if so what is it? Or is it a crap shoot, just toying around? Thank you
  25. Hello All I purchased a power conditioner/surge protector some time ago and I like to turn the power button off on it every night when I am done using my home theater. I have a type AAA personality and figure if I don't need it on, don't have it on. Does limit the effectivness of the surge protector? Does the surge protector need to be powered on to work or just powered on for the my home theater components to work? Thank you
