  1. Never mind... I got it going now. Just had to turn the control module off and on again... duuhhh.
  2. I just got my dd5.1 back from klipsch (wife sent it in with RMA's 5.1's not knowing any better). Now I have been enjoying my new 5.1 Ultras for a week or so. I just tried to connect the dd5.1 and nothing... nada. I have disconnected all input devices and the only thing connected is the dd5.1 to the sub and speakers connected to sub. did the "test" thing on dd5.1 and nothing. Any ideas?
  3. What ever happened? Did you get it to work? I still have the same problem. Amy @ Klipsch told me 0db is as high as it goes... Seems kinda strange to me but Im sure she knows. In my mind, 0db=no sound.
  4. While these 5.1 speakers work connected directly to my computer I'm having problems getting anything out of them when connecting to the DD-5.1 decoder. No sound at all, the decoder reads "unknown coaxial " and the volume control reads "-20db" and it will not go above 0db no matter what I do. I went out yesterday to radio shack and got a coax digital audio cable and tried that, thinking I had the wrong type of cable... Nothing. Even the basic analog out from my tv using standard RCA audio cables, same thing... nothing. Ive seen another poster with the exact same problem but havent seen any corrective replies to it. Unless someone kind enough to offer some type of corrective suggestion I guess I'll call klipsch as I was advised to do by someone before.
  5. I'm having the exact same problem. See my post titled "crank it up".
  6. I connected just one of the 5.1's up to my PC's old, tired, analog sound card (just one speaker because I did'nt have the adapter to connect more) and I had to turn the volume up on the control unit to about 40 or 50 to get any sound, Cranked it on up to about 70 and it sounded pretty good but the SW bass was overpowering even after adjusting it down as low as I could get it. Maybe if all the speakers were connected instead of just one it wouldnt be so bad? My Question: Do you normally have to turn it up so much to hear it? When I had the dd-5.1 connected I only turned it up to like 5 or 10.
  7. Okay, I've been fighting with this thing for about 2 hours now and can't get it to work. Nothing. The only sound I get is a subtle "thump" from the subwoofer when I turn on the control unit. I have tried only the simplest connections, analog TV audio out (no joy), and analog DVD player (again, no joy). Even pressed 'reset' and then 'test'... nothing. is this thing dead or am I just that stupid?
  8. Dont know about a photo but the connectors on my computer are identical to the ones on the back of the dd-5.1 and I'm thinking the cox receiver just has the small sqaure on like the one on the dd-5.1. Does that clear things up any? BTW, I appreciate your help.
  9. Thank you, I'll try to check back here about 5:30 or so. Here's what I have, my computer has a round s/pdif output (RCA? I dunno) and a tiny connector (toslink? again not sure) and my cox digital cable tv receiver, I think only has the tiny connector, I'll have to check when I get home.
  10. Okay, thanks for the info. I just got a call from my mother-in-law (where I had it shipped) and she said a bunch of stuff came via fed-ex so Im sure thats my 5.1 system, so no need for the manual now. I hope they include the s/pdif cable.
  11. Oh yeah, almost forgot... Where can I download the manual for the dd-5.1?
  12. Okay, my 5.1's & dd-5.1 hasnt arrived yet but I'm looking at a picture of the back of this thing and I just dont see how I'm supposed to connect it to my PC. My motherboard Asus P4PE) has onboard 5.1 with 3 outputs (Front, Rear & Center). It also has an s/pdif connector that is connected to the motherboard via a cable but i didnt think it had anything to do with audio, but was more for connecting a video camera. So would I just not use the 3 audio outputs at all and connect the s/pdif to the dd-5.1?
