  1. Hello All; I am lookimg for a pair of KLF 30's, preferably in black. If anyone has them for sale, or can point me in the right diection, I would greatly appreciate it. Missed a pair by aboyut an hour the other day on Audiogon. I keep searching! Thanks in advance. Mike
  2. Also, should I be considering the KLF 30's as a better match for the Forte's? The Klipsch techs thought that they would be too boomy and that the KLF 20's were better! Sorry for the two posts. I forgot to mention the second part! Mikee
  3. What's is anyones's opinion on how KLF 20's would match up as rear surrounds (for multi channel music), with Forte II's in the front? Would the bass of the KLF 20's keep up with the bass output of the Forte II's? Thanks Mike
  4. For what it is worth, I have had an older Yamaha receiver(pro logic) and plan to buy the Denon 3803 over the Yamaha 3300. I heard them both at a dealer's demo room and the Denon was far superior for music. The Denon was brighter, richer and had a warmer, fuller sound than the Yamaha, by far. I listened to Rock, and Classical, and Jazz aand the outcome was the same throughout. I did not however listen with Klipsch speakers, because at the time I did not know what speakers I was buying. As it happenned, I came across a pair of Forte II's for $200.00 at a local pawn shop and I have not looked back since. I was blown away by the Forte II's and have since gotten a KLF C-7 center(could not get a hold of an Academy) that I love, and intend to get the RSW 15 SUB, RS-7 's for side surrounds and RF3II's for back surrounds. I will get the 3803 and I am sure I will be thrilled with this setup. Best of luck in your search. Mike
  5. Thanks for all the advice guys, but I wonder since I just bought the KLF C-7, can I use that with the RF-7's and have a decent match. Then I would use the RS-7's for side surround and the the RB-5II for the back surrounds, with the RSW 115 Sub. Does that sound like a plan?!? If that sounds fesible, I would then use the Forte's for a two channel system.
  6. Hello All; I can get a very good deal on a pair of RF-7's and RS-7's and wonder how they would match up to my Forte II's using the RF-7's as back surrounds with RS-7's as side surrounds? I will be using the setup more for multi channel sound than movies. I already have a KLF-C-7 for my center channel, but I just received it and have not hooked it up yet. Am I totally off the wall here, thinking that this setup is in any way complimentary and matched? Thanks for any advice taht is given. Regards, Mike Frankel
  7. I would also love to know what the advantage of having two subwoofers, (as indicated in the Klipsch manuals) vs. having one are? Except for the obvious more bass! Also Wesgoff, you neglected to twell methe name of your store so I can look for one around mwe. Thanks again to all. Mike
  8. Hi: Where is your Store? I a, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Are you anywhere nearby? Thanks for the advice. MIke
  9. I want to add a sub to my setup in the making and the guy I bought my KLF-C-7 from says that the only good sub is a passive one powered by a seoperate amp. He says that all active subs do no last long because they all rattle the amps loose and are shot after a few years. I was looking at the KSW 15 vs the RSW 15. I have been told by Klipsch techs that the RSW 15 is constructed to withstand any vibrations and that it will bring the house down with the sound. Which way to go active or passive? BTW I have Forte II's in the front, a KLF Cc-7 coming for the center, and am considering RS-7's for the side and either 2 more KLF C-7's or SB-3's or RB5II's for the back. Which would be the best match? I want to keep all the surrounds with 8" woofers to match the KLF C-7. I think I am getting a Denon 3803 to power the lot. How does that sound, anyone? Thanks to all who have helped so far. I'm getting there slowly, but surely. Mike
  10. Thanks for everone's help. I could not get an Academy(What a surprise!), so I went with the KLF C-7. Will let you all know how it works out with the Forte II's BTW,I am thinking of going with the RS-7 surrounds for the sides and if I like it two more KLF C-7's for the back surrounds. How does that sound rto everyone? I am thinking correctly? Thanks Again. Mike
  11. I have been to the Klipsch page that you sent and searched on the two models, but do not come up with anything. Mike

  14. How would a KLF C-7 match up as a center speaker with my Forte II's. I have a line on one and the seller says that it matches better than an Academy. What is anyone's opinion? Thanks in advance. Mike

  17. Hello: I am looking for an Academy Center Channel speaker and failing that a KLF C-7 I have a pair of Forte II's and am trying to expand the system for HT and Multi channel music, and have been advised that these would be as good a match as possible. So if anyone has any leads I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Mike
  18. In anyone's opinion is THX really worth it. Does it make that much of a difference to warrant the inflated price of receivers. And will having a THX receiver make a dfference with non THX speakers and other components? Thanks Mike Frankel
  19. I wondered which of the current Klipsch surround speakers would sound best with both movies and multichannel audio. I have Forte II's for the front, listen to more music than movies, but still want a bi or di pole like speaker for the movies. Thanks Mike Frankel
  20. Hello: I have a pair of Forte II's and want to add a center speaker and 4 surrounds. I listen to as much music as watch movies so I want the best of both worlds. I will be adding SACD or DVD-audio at some time. Being new to all this I really do not know the difference between all themodels. I just know that I like a lot of bass and usually feel 3 way speakers are best. But I am open to all opinions. The surrounds are: RS-3 II RS-7RS-7 SS-1SS-1 SS.5SS.5 The center speaker choices are: RC-3 II RC-7RC-7 SC-1SC-1 SC.5SC.5 Thanks in advance Mike
  21. Does anyone have an opinion on matching a pair of Forte II's in front with 4 Cambridge SoundWorks Newton Series S300 MultiPole Surround Speakers in the rear for a 7.1 configuration. These speakers offer direct, Bipole and Dipole sound and to me they seem like a great choice for hearing both music and movies. Thanks in advance for any opinions or experience. Mike

  23. I have a pair of Forte II's and would like to set up a 7.1 system. Should I be looking at a THX receiver with the Forte's? I would like to know what Klipsch speakers to use for the center, side and back surrounds and subwoofer. Also are the Forte II's shieled for use close to the TV? Also, what about the use of di or bi polars for the surrounds. Do Klipsch speakers disperse sound so well that I should not even consider these options? I was looking at Mirage Omnipolar speakers for the center and surrounds. Should I be? Does anyone have any experience with these and how do the compare with Klipsch? Thanks, I know that is a lot of questions am will appreciate any help from anyone. Mike Frankel
  24. Hi: I am new to the forum and have a question. I have a 2 inch tear on the cone of the passive radiator on one of my Forte II's. Also there is a inch hole in the waffle-like material surrounding the cone. My local speaker shop tells me they can fix it as good as new. My question is will it really be as good as new or should I consider replacing the whole cone. I am not concerned with how the repair looks only that the sound is unaffected. Thanks in advance for any help. Mike Frankel
  25. Hi: I am brand new to the forum and have a question. I have a pair of Forte II speakers and one speaker has a 2 inch tear on the cone of the passive radiator and a one inch square cut out on the waffle area surrounding the cone. My local speaker shop tells me that he can repair these problems and everything will sound as good as new. Is this the right route to go or should I try to replace the entire passive radiator. I am not hung up an what it the repair will look like, just that the sound is unaffected. Thanks in advance for any help Mike
