Feel exhilerated and foolish at the same time. After living in this condo for almost two and a half years I made a minor alteration to my sub positioning and everything just changed for the better. Things had seemed pretty good, although I sometimes felt my bass was a bit weighted towards the front room corner where I had my sub. On a lark (and partially for aesthetics), I moved it about four feet along the short wall away from the corner. Holy crow what a difference! I had it dialed back to -3.5, increased it to +1.5 in the new position and everything just came came together for 2.1 stereo. The hint of boominess that arose with some recordings is now gone. Clarity, evenness and balance just dialed in. I can’t beleive it took so long to discover this. Another bonus is that my wife much prefers the optics of the placement. The difference four feet along a short wall can make.
