My Denon AVR3200 vs My Yamaha 663

I own a Denon AVR 3200. Bought it in 1997/98-ish. I recently purchased a new Yamaha 663 to take advantage of the most recent HT technology. My speaker system includes Klipsch KLF 20's, C7 Center, DSW-200 Sub...and 2 crappy non-Klipsch surrounds that need replaced soon.

Theatrically, the Yamaha seems to be a wonderful machine. Great movie production and great "bells and whistles". A lot of fun to play with. Very versatile. Musically, I can't seem to get the Yamaha to match what I was getting from the Denon. An example is the Elton John with the Royal Acadamy Orchestra at the Royal London Opera House DVD. When the piano, band, full orchastra, and full choir are performing together in Dobly Digital....on the Yamaha...I think Wow...sounds very good. On the Denon....I think WOW!!!....just blows me away. On the Denon the music just seems to be a bit more multidimensional...a bit more enveloping...the instruments seem a bit closer to reality....all-in-all....a bit closer to the reality of being there. I realize that is not a "technically" detailed explanation...but...

1st Question - Is there some common setup step that I am overlooking with the Yamaha that is holding its audio capabilities back?...or all-else-being-equal... do you think the Denon AVR3200 is musically just a better sounding piece of equipment.

2nd Question - Is there a product that I can buy tha will allow me to connect both receivers to the same speaker set and allow me to toggle between the two...to use each for what it does best without the "pain-in-the-xxx" hassle of moving all of the speaker connections whenever I want to switch receivers.
