Fast1
Called Klipsch. "buy a new one or send it to a service center...." Right... Sub is not even worth the shipping. I have the amp out and islolated. Simple testing across input AC terminals shows .9Mohms and nothing obvious is leaking to ground. I am puzzled. Sub was like new just started popping fuses. Has to be something in the front power stage. Something that is leaking once energized. Just curious if there is something to be looking at? We are talking a SUPER SIMPLE amp here. Like, I took it aparts and said, "where's the beef?". Nothing visually damaged "of course" but I think only a few few components (transistors, transformers, rectifier) could cause such a hard short. I found several more of these amps floating around, all with the same problem. Makes me think there is an obvious issue here. I also did not find any MOVs in there and not sure why.
