Venymous Posted August 8, 2011 Share Posted August 8, 2011 So I have had this system for 6-7 years and it has worked flawlessly. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones...thoughit has appeared to have run out. I've read a lot of posts about the amps dieing and I'm sure that is the case with mine. But since my system is acting weird (as opposed to being 100% dead), I want to try and make sure before I spend the money on repairs or a new system. Ok, the problem: my satellites basically don't work anymore...all 5. When I play audio I can only hear bass, so I know at least the subs work. The satellites might cut in briefly here and there and play audio like normal but then they cut out again (all at the same time everytime). Most likely it is the amp, but maybe something more localized since only the satellites are affected. Thanks for any help. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
drcigg Posted January 22, 2012 Share Posted January 22, 2012 Open it up and check the board with the transformer on it. It's very common for the components near the transformer to heat up or burn.
