UnkerWill
My a year plus Status headphone ear pad gave way recently. I observed that the leather faux covering the white foam inside is only glued together with the linen around the ear cup. To me, this not a good acceptable design (maybe because is cheaper). In a hot climate where I live, any users after putting on the headphone for just 20 mins will perspire and as such, sweat will come in contact with glued portion and thus weakening the glue and causing the foam to be exposed. For the same price or even cheaper headphones in the market, I find that their ear cups are sewn on (unlike Kipsch) which make it more durable. Hope Klipsch can do the same. Of course, I would expect the cost to go up a little but at least your users would not have to pay extra each time to replace the damaged ear pad and I understand the replacement cost is not cheaper!
